Ana really doesnโ€™t love taking photosโ€ฆ ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ but when her Uncle David asked her to do a ballet shoot, we finally got her to say yes. And I am SO grateful we did. ๐Ÿฉฐ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

This may very well be the last time we see @ana.v.alanis in her pointe shoes, and these photos are something we will treasure forever. They are absolutely exquisite. @dalanis2 captured her so beautifully โ€” the strength, elegance, and beauty of a ballerina. โœจ And tucked into this beautiful shoot is also a little homage to Degas and his Little Dancer โ€” a nod to the artist who so beautifully captured the grace, movement, and quiet moments of ballet. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฉฐ

What you donโ€™t see in those gorgeous pointe shoes, though, is all the pain that comes with them. The years of training, the blisters, bruises, aching feet, and countless hours of pushing through when your body says, โ€œIโ€™ve had enough.โ€ So, Iโ€™m including a few photos of the feet underneath those beautiful pointe shoes, too. Because thatโ€™s the part of ballet people donโ€™t always see. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Thank you so much David for capturing Ana in this beautiful way. You did an AMAZING job, and I truly cannot recommend you enough! ๐Ÿ“ธ I told Ana, โ€œYou are going to be so grateful you have these photos 10, 20, even more years from now. Youโ€™ll look back and say, โ€˜Look what I could do back then!โ€™โ€ ๐Ÿฅน

One day this chapter will become a memory. But these photographs will always remind her of the strength, discipline, dedication, and beauty that lived in her.

โœจ And sheโ€™s off...

I took a little break from social media, but Iโ€™m back. Iโ€™ll be sharing all of Anaโ€™s graduation and senior year celebrations soon ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

But today... today we dropped @ana.v.alanis off in San Marcos to begin her journey at Texas State University. She headed up a little earlier than most of the incoming freshmen because Strutter practices have already begun.

We had such a fun summer! We laughed, made memories, checked off all of our favorite things, and I made sure she enjoyed every one of her favorite meals before she left. There was lots of dorm shopping, countless trips, and today was so much fun putting her new little home together. She was able to say goodbye to some of you, and to those she didnโ€™t get to see before she left, weโ€™re so sorry she missed you. ๐Ÿ˜” Please know you were in her heart, too.

18 years ago, I became a mom to my favorite daughter ๐Ÿ˜‰ My greatest hope was to raise a kind, strong, independent young woman. Today, as hard as it was to drive away, I realized that dream has come true. I know youโ€™re going to be just fine.

Of course, I left a piece of my heart in San Marcos today. But no matter where life takes you, youโ€™ll always be a part of me.

Love you to the moon and back my Cotitas ๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿ’ž
