TONIGHT: ANOTHER SKY PRESENTS NO HAY BANDA - TWO-DAY RESIDENCY, DAY TWO Tonight is night two of a two-night UK debut from Montrealā€™s NO HAY BANDA, presented with Another Sky and celebrating the ensembleā€™s 2026 Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Ensemble Prize. Across both nights, newly commissioned work sits alongside open scores, material drawn from Another Skyā€™s archive, improvisation and electronics, with three commissions developed closely with Lucie Nezri, Dali de Saint Paul and Sam Salem throughout this year. Tonight centres on Sam Salemā€™s concert-length audiovisual work Everyone No-one, a meditation on obsolescence, family history, colonial occupation, technological nostalgia and the difficulty of finding meaning in the present. Doom metal, Just Intonation, musical automata, symbolic AI and ancient cosmologies all enter its frame. The second half is a new commission from Dali de Saint Paul, written around inherited migration, fractured genealogy and the musical traces carried across generations, combining voice, violin, percussion and ondes Martenot. šŸŽµšŸŽµšŸŽµ Dali de Saint Paul @dalidesaintpaul is a raw experimental vocalist, a performer, a composer and a producer. Her particular use of vocals through fx blurs sonic borders, questions gender stereotypes and destabilises spatial and linguistic borders; as a lyricist, she mixes poetics and politics to bring intensity to her performances. Dali de Saint Paul, new work Beyond the historical frictions between communities, what traces do the descendants carry of their ancestorsā€™ migrations? The exploration and deciphering of unconscious musical sediments of cultural heritage and the construction of a self ā€“ inevitably incomplete due to the gaps in its genealogy and history ā€“ is the focus of this new collaboration. This work revolves around the use of traditional instruments such as the violin, percussion and voice in North African cultures, combined with the ondes Martenot, which provides a necessary link to the electronic music that fuels our contemporary imaginations.
