POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Oh! And that’s a wrap 💝

I’ve been thinking and realizing and retrospecting about the past 5(!) years that I’ve spent working at Art Met – a particularly fulfilling part of which was establishing and animating this little project exhibition space with my coworkers. I never really posted proper documentation of the exhibitions that I curated while I was at AM, so here is a lil roundup ☄️

Huge enormous thank you to all of the talented, insightful, and generous artists I worked with on these shows, in particular @julianahuxtable @jordankingarchive and @vida.beyer; to my dedicated colleagues @blairswann and @tessdavey; and to the many collaborators who assisted, advised, and otherwise severely held it down on these projects (@hailokitty, @koljatinkova, @kelsmyler, the list goes on and on.)

It’s been a privilege to get to briefly serve an artist-run centre with such an enormous, subversive, and queer legacy. I love artist-run history & print culture & trans people forever❣️

Pictured here:

1-3: in ubiquities of microplastics, Juliana Huxtable, 2026 (up at Art Met until November 29)

4-7: Correspondence by Artists: Genesis P-Orridge, 2026

8-10: Seen Through Red, Jordan King, 2025

11-12: A Snowflake Melting, Its Sensuous Detail, Vida Beyer, 2025

13-15: Queer Mutliples, 2025

SHUT THE F UP!!! 📞👔📉🚨🏙️💥

With just over a week left to submit your application to Silverfish’s 2026 Artist and Writer Program: Business, we’re taking a moment to 🤝introduce🤝 Silverfish Editors Cason Sharpe and Dallas Fellini, who will facilitate this year’s workshop program.

Cason Sharpe is a writer currently based in Toronto. His writing, a mix of fiction, criticism, and non-fiction, focuses on camp and queerness in the urban environment. His writing has appeared in Canadian Art, C Magazine, Public Parking, In The Mood Magazine, BRICK, and Toronto Review, among others. His first collection of stories, Our Lady of Perpetual Realness, was published by Metatron Press in 2017. Named a Queer Writer to Watch by THIS Magazine, Cason has presented work at the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Museum of Contemporary Art, FADO Performance Inc., the Vancouver Art Book Fair, the Prairie Art Book Fair, and the Hamilton Film Festival.

Dallas Fellini is a curator, writer, and artist living and working on Treaty 13 territory (Toronto). Their research is situated at the intersection of trans studies and archival studies. Dallas has curated and co-curated exhibitions and screenings for Art Metropole, the Art Museum at the University of Toronto, the Art Gallery of Guelph, Libby Leshgold Gallery, Gallery 44, InterAccess, and Vtape, amongst others. Their writing and criticism has been published in publications including The Brooklyn Rail, Canadian Art, C Magazine, Art Documentation, The Journal of Curatorial Studies, and Cornelia Magazine. Major highlight of this year (which I forgot to post any documentation of lol) was touring Indiscrible thresholds, escaped veillances to the Libby Leshgold Gallery at ECUAD in February. It was so special getting to work with the incredible team at Libby to reimagine this show for their space, including new iterations of many of the original works.

Seen Through Red opens tomorrow night at @artmetropole – this has been such a special exhibition to work on alongside @jordankingarchive, whose incredible archive of nightlife ephemera from early 00s Vancouver will be on view at Art Met for the next month and a bit.

Launched in tandem with a zine thoughtfully designed by @tessdavey, with an essay from me about archives, partying, and transsexuality as practice 💋 Pick up a copy tomorrow night at Art Met (6-9), and join us afterwards at JUICE (9-late) for a little after party :) by @dallasknives

Moodboard + some process shots from 404_not_found, Vector Festival’s 2025 flagship exhibition, curated by me and opening Thursday night at @interaccessto :-)

404_not_found considers notions of permanence associated with the web, repositioning the anti-archival and ephemeral qualities of digital memory as generative and reframing decay as a distinct but equal counterpart to growth. Featuring works from @a_lycheee @oceanleaving @alexrajaven @being_on_line @bickfordpark 💿⛓️‍💥📂

404_not_found opens this Thursday July 10, with a reception from 7-9. Marked for Disposal, an accompanying performance by @essaysmythe with soundscape sonic contributions by @oliviash_rtt is happening on July 15 from 7-8:30. See you there!!!! by @dallasknives

Thrilled to have gotten to launch ‘Indiscernible thresholds, escaped veillances’ at @libbyleshgoldgallery with a closed program dedicated to trans opacity and intra-community conversations. I’m so glad that this show has gotten to have a second life here in Vancouver at a moment in which critical negotiation of representation feels especially urgent.

This has been a really special week that’s left me with a lot to think about - big thank you to everyone at Libby, the artists in this show, and everyone who participated in the Trans Opacity Classroom. by @dallasknives

Some documentation of Robert Flack: Eternal Transcendent, a second project that I curated at the Art Gallery of Guelph this fall. It was such a privilege to get to spend time with Flack’s works from the AGG collection. Anyone who knew Rob will tell you exactly how special he was, both as an artist and an individual - this was communicated in every text I read about his work and by every friend or chosen family member that I got the chance to chat with in the process of building this exhibition. I felt fortunate to get to work with this collection and to bring to life the AGG’s first solo exhibition of Rob’s work since his passing in 1993.

There are still 3 more days to catch both my shows at the Art Gallery of Guelph 🤍 by @dallasknives

Sharing some documentation from 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘦, which has been extended until January 5th :)

Registration for the mailed exhibition remains open as well (link in bio), although delivery will likely be delayed because of the postal workers strike (solidarity forever). In the meantime you can pick up an exhibition package from @artmetropole or @thearquives – feat. print takeaways and QR codes for at-home video viewing 📼

Featuring works by

@b.g.osborne
@cleopatriia
Xanthra Phillippa MacKay
Mirha-Soleil Ross
