Bittersweetly, we announce the news of Dallas Fellini’s departure from Art Metropole in September.

Dallas first joined Art Metropole through Young Canada Works as the Collection, Archive & Inventory Assistant in 2021, and soon became a permanent staff member in 2022. During this time they oversaw key updates to AM’s back-end database and reinvigorated AM’s distribution program, supporting the circulation and visibility of AM's holdings of over 16,000 artists’ books, multiples, and ephemera.

In 2024 Dallas took on the role of Curator of Programs & Distribution Manager, and in 2026 became our Director of Programs. Over the past few years, Dallas has been instrumental in shaping Art Metropole’s current trajectory of artistic programming, initiating dialogues with Art Metropole’s history while providing insightful connections to the wide community of contemporary artist-initiated publishing. Their compelling curatorial work has been evident in exhibitions at Art Metropole such as Correspondence by Artists: Genesis P-Orridge, the group show Queer Multiples, Jordan King’s solo exhibition Seen Through Red; programs such as the Reactivating the Archive lecture series; as well as in the many publications and editions Dallas worked on including Seen Through Red by Jordan King, Selected Writing on Black Canadian Art by Yaniya Lee, and the recent FETISH T-shirt reprint.

Dallas’ many contributions during these five years have made a truly lasting impact on Art Metropole. Thank you for all that you’ve accomplished, Dallas! We will miss working together and learning from you – but we are so excited for what’s ahead.

Before their departure Dallas will work on realizing an exciting new exhibition at Art Metropole opening in September. We hope you will join us in celebrating Dallas’ achievements at Art Metropole whether in person or in the comments below!
