I don’t hate this painting, I think it turned out as I hoped. Trying not to pat myself on the back, but I believe it captures a lot of the energy of the SoCal surf scene. Especially in the urban costal areas! This original oil painting goes on exhibition and up for sale October 1 at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Hollywood. More details to follow! by @damianfulton

How do I begin to explain this? I often get asked to do all kinds of artwork, and sometimes, because of scheduling or it’s just not a good fit, I have to turn it down. But in this case, the exceptional charity, Surfers Healing approached me and I said yes! The result is this painting I call “Westward Ho”, hand painted for an auction benefiting kids with autism. Thrilled to be showcased as the featured artist at the El Segundo Artwalk this Saturday, August 23! There's a special Damian Fulton pop-up gallery at Tower 60 on the corner of Richmond Street and Grand Avenue. Has it really been a year since I completed this board for Charity? Do you remember? I don’t do a lot of charities but when Surfers Healing comes calling, I’m down. And I’ll be at it again this year for the annual Christmas surfboard auction at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel. Follow along and watch what comes out in the next few weeks. A new board is on its way! This is flat out beautiful, Made, by master saddlemaker West Mastic, @kackkid400 this handcrafted highly detailed Radical Rick tribute is a piece of art! I know how long it takes to draw this dude, I can only imagine how long it would take to create this on leather! You can’t AI this! Massive skills! It isn’t often I receive gifts in the mail, but when I do, I’m always appreciative, NOTE: I’m not trying to pander for more! Just thankful when folks remember Radical Rick. by @damianfulton

I’m not saying, throw out your digital calendars, all I’m putting out is there is something very satisfying getting into the rhythm of making your own calendar, full on analog. There’s something tangible about seeing the important landmarks and milestones rollout in front of you while you plan for the upcoming months. Over the course of each passing month, I due to a little bit, often creating a single image which becomes a theme. This isn’t meant to be a challenge, but what’s in your shed? Mine’s packed with fun things to ride. An old school 20 inch diamondback Bmx. I’m going to restore someday, zoo‘s electric bike, a cruiser for the Beach, and the prototype Haro/Radical Rick 29 inch, and a ton of surfboards. Now my only challenges, getting out more often and using them! What’s in your shed? by @damianfulton

Duke Kahanamoku brought surfing to the mainland and had a dream that one day it would be an Olympic sport. He was a gold medalist in swimming in the 20s so he would know. Painting a figure so deeply tied to the ocean and culture was a beautiful challenge.
The combination of vintage Olympic-era references with the vibe of the 80s LA, honor his legacy as a champion swimmer and surfing pioneer, “Duke’s Dream” is a celebration of his vision to have surfing included in the Olympic Games. Happy 9 to 5 day! Very fortunate to have directed Dolly in TV commercials and content for Dollywood on and off for 20 years. And I can say unequivocally she is the most genuine, funny, talented person I’ve ever worked with. Classy and kind, she’d stay behind and sign everyone on the crew’s request. This advice she gives in the video is inspiring to me and I hope sharing it is inspiring for you too. Thankful for my friend Jackie at @thespininggroup for all the times we worked together. by @damianfulton
