First half mara checked off the list.

I’m so proud of us but I’m actually insanely proud of @damienekenasio from not wanting to be a runner to actually enjoying it now not just for the running but the actual mental health benefits has been such an empowering journey over the last little bit. Running with so many people around beautiful Queenstown was a vibe.

Thanks @asicsnz for supporting us and lighting the fire for running. We’ll be back for sure. #soundmindsoundbody taken in Queenstown, New Zealand by @damienekenasio

Coming up to 8 years working in Sport all I hear at the top of the food chain is Maori & Pasefika people are the hardest to move and stay physically active.

I get it… but we do move, we just move different, we move through cultural dance, we move at church, we move together as a family.

So I put it to the test:

Make time
Create space
Make it consistent
Let “Him” take the wheel 🙏🏽

5 weeks in with the brothers and my cup is full.

It takes a village to bring up our children, it also takes a village to get moving. So I’m starting at home, with my family, my Day 1’s, my village 🫶🏽

We run it back tomorrow ⚡️

After eight years of outstanding service, we acknowledge and thank Damien Ekenasio as he concludes his tenure as General Manager of Capital Basketball.

Throughout his time in the role, Damien has played a significant part in the growth and success of basketball across our region. His leadership, vision, and ability to build strong relationships throughout the basketball community have helped strengthen our organisation and leave a lasting impact on the game across the region.

We are incredibly grateful for Damien’s commitment, passion, and dedication over the past eight years. His contribution has been immense, and the positive influence he has had on our community will be felt for many years to come.

While Damien is looking forward to spending more time with his family and pursuing other endeavours, we’re pleased to know that he won’t be too far away from the game he loves. We look forward to continuing to see him courtside around Wellington, coaching and supporting his children.

On behalf of everyone at Capital Basketball, thank you, Damien, for your service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the game.

We wish you and your whānau all the very best for the future. by @damienekenasio

Happy birthday Ocean 🥳 You are the best kid ever even though you don’t listen, don’t look for things properly, already wear my shoes and eat everything in the house. You are your sisters protector, look after mum when I’m sick or sore, have the biggest heart of gold, pass the balls to the girls on your team and high five all your sisters little friends every day at pick up. Why do you seem like a full grown man already. Love you so damn much 💚💚💚 by @damienekenasio
