📔 Students in the Master in Art Direction and New Narratives (@damn.madnn @comelisava) have designed the art direction for the new edition of the MADNN Magazine, titled LOST.

The Master in Art Direction and New Narratives planned a trip to Lanzarote as a starting point for developing the art direction for an editorial publication. The value of the project not only lies in the final result, but in the entire process: constructing a narrative, editing, selecting, sequencing images, and making decisions that create a coherent and meaningful story.

This is what 9 days in Lanzarote felt like.

We walked until the roads blurred into landscapes,
talked until silence became part of the conversation,
discovered corners we could never have planned for,
and got lost more times than we can count.

But somewhere between the volcanoes, the wind and the ocean,
we found ourselves wondering:
what if getting lost was the whole point of the journey?

What comes to mind when you hear the word “lost”?

It encompasses many meanings, and we set out to explore some of them through writing and analog photography in a place as evocative as Lanzarote.

We’ve compiled our work into this magazine, which we’ll be presenting on May 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. on the third-floor terrace at Elisava.

We’ll have a DJ and beer, and you’ll have a chance to win a copy of the magazine.

Come get lost with us.

Not every wrong turn needs to be corrected.
We’ve grown so used to repetition that distance began to feel normal.
We stopped questioning the walls we no longer noticed.
Nothing truly stays where we leave it.
Not time, not wind, not memory.
One road disappears,
while another quietly begins.
Some stories become more believable
the less clearly we see them.

An unceasing force gives us everything and takes it all away. Perhaps receiving and letting go is the only way to dance with it.

What can sometimes be a refuge can turn into a cage. Can one escape one’s own reality?
Or are we destined to be bound to it forever? by @damn.madnn

There’s a part of you that takes risks and lets curiosity be the guide... and that’s how great adventures happen. by @damn.madnn
