I’m Hailie.
A CMO brain w/ Creative Director taste.
This little corner of IG is for strategy that makes sense, ideas that land, systems that hold, and the kind of clarity you can actually use.
I’ve spent over a decade building brands and teaching future creative leaders.

Now I am a Fractional CMO and Creative Director @wellspentconsulting & if you want me to be so for real rn - we are the most elite, best in class, fun to work with group of C - level strategists in the game.

Our clients are known for their transformative brand refinements, insanely intentional positioning, impressive performance and messaging that feels like the most interesting human in the room.

This is where I talk about it.

You can spot bad creative in two seconds. But bad messaging often hides behind good creative, and gets blamed on everything else instead.

The harder something is to explain, the more that gap costs you. Technical products don't fail because the tech is weak. They fail because no one engineered a way to make it click in five seconds.

That's not a request you fill. It's a skill you apply, on purpose, until the complex thing sounds obvious. by @damnshesclever

Sales makes the same mistake marketing does. Find that one OG salesperson - a unicorn! Hand them the whole pipeline and hope it holds.

Not sustainable. Not smart.

So instead of banking on one unicorn, we built a system. Every month the sales team gets a pitch kit: the hook, the language that actually lands, notes on what to say when you're talking to engineers versus buyers versus whoever else is in the room. Every piece they need, already put together.

Sales for dummies, basically. (In the best way.)

That's what happens when marketing and sales stop operating like separate departments and start operating like one system.

Nobody flips from outdated to industry leader because of a new logo.
It happens when the strategy and the story stop living in two different departments and start working as one system.

That's what we build. Not a deck. Not a vibe. A system that tells your team exactly what to say, to who, and why it matters, every single time.
The tactics get to be fun and flashy later. But only after this part is locked.

No ad spend. No SEO campaign. Just the right positioning.

Once the message was clear, the website and content followed it, and the ranking jump was a byproduct, not the goal. Two weeks later, someone in their exact ICP found them by searching for exactly what they do, in the exact city they serve. And we love to see it for our clients over at @ecstechnologysolutions

That's what happens when positioning actually reflects who you're for. Google notices. So do the right people. by @damnshesclever

The businesses that struggle with growth almost never have a "we can't close" problem. They have a "we can't get in the room" problem.

And that usually gets misdiagnosed as a sales issue, when really it's that the story isn't reaching enough people, enough times, in a way that builds trust before the pitch ever happens.

Marketing isn't a channel. It's every single interaction someone has with your brand before they decide you're worth their time.

Fix that, and the room gets a lot easier to fill. by @damnshesclever

"We're trustworthy." "We're experienced." "We care about our clients."
Cute. But that's what all your competitors' websites say.

That's not a message, it's the entry fee. It's the bare minimum anyone should already assume walking in the door. Leading with it just tells people you didn't think hard enough to find the actual thing that makes you different.

Boring doesn't mean untrue. It just means nobody remembers it five minutes later. by @damnshesclever

You didn't lose the deal because your product was bad. You lost it because you were fighting for a position someone else already owned.

Most founders respond to underperformance by changing the marketing. New ads, new content, a rebrand. That's rarely the actual fix.

Allow me to introduce you to my new Co-Committee Chair of Scheduling, Winter. My 7 year old.

I imagine my day to day life looks a lot like many of yours. Two working parents with high-pressure jobs, two kiddos with childhoods worth protecting, a schedule that never slows down, and a household with constant needs. tbh... that’s only skimming the surface.

Daily I think to myself: “There has to be a better way to manage my circus.”

Now, here we are in a very intentional season in our house. Building systems, assigning ownership, actually protecting the time we have together.

The Warrens now have committees…for everything. Chores, vacation planning, groceries. You name it.

Winter insisted she be the chair of scheduling. (We settled on co-chair.) The system? Every Sunday, we write her week of activities on the bathroom mirror in dry erase marker. She checks it every morning. Nothing slips (so far 😅) and she feels ownership in our daily flow.

With each new system, it’s become more clear how much carryover there is between the way we do things at Wellspent and the way it’s started to evolve how I think at home.

Clarity drives follow-through in both places. Defined ownership creates accountability in both places. Intentional structure creates habits needed to stay regulated.

Since day one, @is.it.maren and @blakeberke have stood on a firm belief. That we are here to build a life well spent. Time well spent, energy well spent and relationships well spent. And that all becomes possible with clear conversation, a plan and the right team or in my case - co-chair ;) by @damnshesclever

Hailie is an executive creative and marketing leader with over a decade of experience building brands from the ground up. She works as a Fractional CMO and Brand Strategist, helping organizations get clear on who they are, who they are talking to, and how to show up in a way that actually connects.

She is a three-time Emmy nominated writer and director. That is not a detail we throw in lightly. It means she approaches brand building the way the best storytellers do: with intention, precision, and a deep understanding of what moves people. Her work spans national campaigns, brand strategy, PR, content ecosystems, and cross-channel storytelling.

What makes Hailie rare is that she operates at both ends. She can hold the big picture vision and sit in the execution. She understands human psychology and how platforms work. She builds campaigns that are thoughtful and results-driven.

At Wellspent, she makes sure the brands we work with don't just have a strategy. They have a voice, a presence, and creative that performs.
