That was a tough day on the bike! Absolute banger of a route with @shimanoexagecountry smashing our way through the Cotswolds. A couple of great hill options (I say great, I mean HORRIBLE) for training on to keep @endurance_goals happy with the plans for next year. by @dan.does.bikes

A quick reminder that bailing on a ride isn’t failure. It’s listening to your body, it’s planning well enough to have an escape route, it’s removing pressure on yourself and your loved ones.

Sunday’s ride ended with a train ride home and I’m ok with that. Neither Eliot or I were feeling great but we went out anyway. We had fun with a small group, we got to meet new people, visited a new bakery stop we hadn’t been to before. That sounds weirdly like success to me!

@endurance_goals Trail Weekender fun taking the road less travelled into the Welsh hills and riding some of the best gravel, broken roads and single track I’ve ever ridden.

Fast, loose, sketchy, mountain bikey, quiet sweepy roads… literally the best riding I’ve had in ages and that’s before you even consider the landscape and waterfalls! Just stunning. I can’t wait to head back. by @dan.does.bikes

The long ride for the @endurance_goals Trail Weekender felt like riding through California Redwood forests at points.

The @canyon Grizl handle everything thrown at it with ease. Technical MTB trails… sure, fast loose gravel section…. got it, chunky rocky uphills… engage mountain goat mode. I absolutely love this bike!

@endurance_goals and @timpigotthp3 taking in an info board in the middle of nowhere.

Hiker bike under a fallen tree before a pretty special climb up the side of a waterfall. It felt more footpath than cycle path but I’ll take it.

Fun downhill section into the valley before climbing back out again.

This section of road was soooooo much fun! Rolling perfect tarmac in dappled light through the pines!

The crew for the weekend. @theauburnoutdoors @timpigotthp3 @endurance_goals @my.bike.adventure @ezocycle @wigleybike . Top team. Top weekend. More to video to come! by @dan.does.bikes

Exceptional sunset riding on Friday with a great bunch for @endurance_goals Trail Weekender. 10/10 would recommend. by @dan.does.bikes

Another great ride with @shimanoexagecountry at the weekend. Possibly the last of the really good weather for the season but looking forward to some soggy, mud splattered rides over the winter too!

This was another really good route over to @ccrumbs_eydon (which was great to see so busy on a Sunday morning) and back with a really good chunk of gravel. 10/10 would recommend. by @dan.does.bikes

Gentle Sunday rides don’t happen that often, usually it’s a case of smashing distance, power or speed the whole time. This made a nice change. Nice and chilled and seeing places I’d not ridden before.

Thanks @ezocycle for the invite and the intro to new people. by @dan.does.bikes

Nice solo long ride on Saturday over to @ccrumbs_eydon for coffee and baked goods. Great route, quiet roads, a little bit of offroading (which @komoot put in seemingly for no reason as there was a quiet road alongside it) and a big stint back on the canal.

Was a very brain off 5hrs tbh. Just concentrsting on riding and what my body was doing.

I wonder how many more warmish days riding there are left before the end of the season. by @dan.does.bikes

Woods, crisp gravel, no people. Absolute bliss riding through the trees like this in the evening. I’m not looking forward to dark times after work. Although this could be fun with lights on too!

Beaut little trip over to Mid-Wales today for a wander in Hafren Forest with Eliot. It’s somewhere I’ve never been and with rain forecast figured it was a good day to go. Who doesn’t love an atmospheric wander through the trees. Well worth the 6hrs driving!

At some point I’ll plan a bike route through there. It’s be great fun flying through there on the gravel bike! by @dan.does.bikes

Snapshots of Spain from a few weeks ago. Zero biking with a sprained ankle but it was nice to spend time sith Eliot and just bod about and find things we hadn’t seen before.

Highlights included:
- Sunrise beach trip and swim
- Seeing the eclipse over Malaga
- Walking up to the castle in 35 degrees
- Seeing Parakeets everywhere and having them drop stuff on our heads
- Epic sky views
- The Automotive and Fashion museum
- All the mediteranean architecture by @dan.does.bikes

My 300km ride yesterday didn’t end how I wanted it to with bailing at 210km (I’ll do a better post for that later). There were many highlights though including this, sat in Bakewell people watching while I drank my coffee. I will get that 300km soon!! by @dan.does.bikes
