Meet the Makers of Gal Pals! 💖

Hiiiiii👋 my names Dana! I’m a Minneapolis based hand lettering artist, illustrator, designer, art director, and avid project-starter. I’ve been practicing lettering for about 13 years—what started as a side project in college has turned into a life long passion ✏️❤️‍🔥 While I don’t have a niche lettering style, I love to center my ideas around honesty and vulnerability with a hint of wit and sarcasm, all while using a bright and bold color palette.

You can shop my store through the link in my bio, or catch the @galpalsmpls popping up all over the twin cities! (Shout out to @meeshybeads, my gal pal second half👯‍♀️)

In my free time you can catch me watching too much reality TV and snuggling my animals (Kevin the cat and Jellybean the pup)💗

the cutest thing you can think of right now: my niece, P 💗
fav thing to make: bookmarks📚
current obsession: dark chocolate chips 🍫

We’ve got some exciting news to share! 💖 Who knew that a handful of socially distanced park dates in 2020 would lead to this?! 😍🥲
-
A few weeks ago Dan tricked me into meeting him out on the dock near our house and proposed in the sweetest way!!💖 (swipe to see his perfect pose, and me totally not believing this was actually happening!!!). The last 5 years have been the most memorable, and I’m not sure what the future has in store for us, but I’m really excited and honored to do it all with Dan by my side—my best friend, my confidant, my sense of calm, my shoulder to cry on, and my constant source of laughter💗 Dan, you’ve taught me how to let things go, to ground myself, to not take things too too seriously, and to be myself in this chaotic world. Thank you for loving me in the most genuine, unconditional way. Here’s to all our future memories, adventures, and laughs💖 I love you forever✨🔥

Ring credit: Shoutout to my talented friend, @megan.s.beck at @baileysfinejewelry, for making the most beautiful ring and for designing it together with Dan. You are so talented and thoughtful, and I will cherish this special ring forever💖

Photo credit: to the amazing @chloepaynephoto— seeing you run out of the bushes was the cherry on top of such a huge surprise. Thank you for capturing this once in a lifetime moment 💖 taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota by @dana.christopherson

The rage I feel within burns deep in my soul.

When news like this comes out—7 men, all dismissed with a simple slap on the wrist—the fire within burns bright.

This fire that was lit at a young age has never burned out. It’s slowly been tended to by society’s lack of regard. Each disgusting word spoken, each unwanted touch, each “you should cover up more, you shouldn’t get so drunk”, each “it’s easier to endure it than fight it” moment internalized, each me too that has come before me and continues on after, each man that has abused his power, his friendship, his trust. They have been kindling to the flame.

This fire will never burn out. And I will never not let the world know how much it rages on. by @dana.christopherson
