Announcing participating artist Daniel Pineda-Luna -

@danbeprinting

Daniel Pineda Luna is a first-generation printmaker and MFA graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno. He finds inspiration within the Nevadan desert landscape, focusing on the interplay of isolation and human intervention with nature. Focusing mostly on relief printmaking, he creates his interpretation of human engagement with the environment in a consumerist society. In addition to printmaking, Daniel also enjoys book arts and loves to incorporate language into his work.

Daniel is passionate about working within his community to bring printmaking as a staple art practice. He volunteers with Mountain View Montessori and UNR Extension 4H afterschool programs.

Gallery RAG Las Vegas is excited to announce our inaugural exhibition, "The Rock Show." Artists in this exhibition use rock, sand, concrete, and geological forms. Considering rocks as evidence, geology, and evolution, the materials become mutable sites where histories are held, reimagined, and rewritten.

Participating artists: Laura Esbensen, Daniel Pineda-Luna, Mary Sabo, Lydia Silic, Bennett Zink.

Please:

🗓️ Join us for the opening reception on October 16th 5-9pm or by appointment.

Check out 102025 (You Can't Stay Here) by Daniel Pineda-Luna on view at DBP2025: Gravity!

"My work represents a new symbol to warn future humans about the dangers of invisible radiation from spent nuclear fuel and nuclear energy production. I use linocuts inspired by topographic maps and the Nevadan desert landscape to design each face of the spikes, which then are soaked in paraffin wax to create these ghosts of the future." by @danbeprinting

Took a quick detour from printing to announce my signal box painting is complete! I am so happy to have gotten the chance to paint something fun and wacky for the city of Sparks! Definitely kept me on my toes and faced some challenges (especially NV weather) but for sure a memorable experience! You can check it out off of 4th Street right at the EB i-80 highway entrance, give it a honk if you see it 🖤 by @danbeprinting

Today we are excited to share the work of Daniel Pineda Luna!

"In a consumerist society, waste becomes an inescapable burden. Even thinking about storage and disposal of waste is often an afterthought. Humans have developed more efficient ways of producing energy via nuclear reactors to keep up with consumerist demand and consequently created waste that presents logistical and environmental issues never before witnessed. My work explores a proposed, imaginary landscape that is meant to deter, warn, and be uncomfortable for future humans to inhabit and protect them from long term nuclear waste. I explore these threatening landscapes through linocut prints and sculpture with both natural and man-made materials. The idea of the multiple is reflected in both my
printmaking processes, but also in the physical forms I shape my prints into creating tangible sculptures that give me a glimpse into possible futures. My art invites viewers to take a walk into an unknown landscape and experience dangers meant to be isolated and
forgotten." by @danbeprinting
