The 90's gave us many dance divas, but there is only one AMBER. Her songs defined a generation of dancefloor hits in the 90's and 00's. Here are my top picks from my vinyl collection. Let me know your favorite Amber track and remix in the comments ⬇️

Oh no. Another 80ties legend gone...As a very young woman, we would always go and hang out with the American G.I.s bc they had the best R&B record imports and parties. Yes...back then...the releases did not take place worldwide...and if they did, they happened on different timelines...but with the GI's, we would get to hear them first. There was no party without a slow dance toward the end...ever...and Freddie certainly was part of those classics... RIP Freddie and thanks for the gems. #ripfreddiejackson by @dancedivaamber

The year was 2004-ish & @dancedivaamber was the voice you heard on every dance floor around, but specifically at @paradisenj. And on one specific Saturday night, Amber performed her hits live for an absolutely packed crowd! From “Yes” to “Above The Clouds”, the crowd sang every word and Amber soaked up the adulation and gave the crowd a killer show!!

Do yourselves a favor and dive into Amber’s vast and storied catalog (and buy some of her music)! This voice was the backdrop for innumerable magical moments in dance floors across the world-and at Paradise!

Happy 27th anniversary to the album Amber by @dancedivaamber, released on September 21, 1999.

My top 3 favorite songs on the album:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. Above The Clouds - what a great way to open the album! Bought the cd single and 12” right when they came out.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. I’m Free - this may seem like an odd choice, as this is a mostly dance album and this song is a piano ballad, but I LOVE it. It knocked me out the first time I heard it. This song could be autobiographical for Amber. She’s opened our eyes to a lot of the shenanigans behind the scenes that music listeners never hear about. This song is about being true to yourself. “I just want to be myself.” What a powerful lyric.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Sexual (Li Da Di) - ohhhh boy. So much could be said about this classic. I remember buying the cd single before I had ever even heard the song. I saw it at Sam Goody and was like, Amber has a new song? Got home, played it, and almost died. 🤪 I don’t think there was a weekend in mid-1999/2000 when I didn’t hear this song in the clubs. It hit number 1 on my weekly chart for 13 weeks.⁣⁣ 🪩⁣
