The year was 2004-ish & @dancedivaamber was the voice you heard on every dance floor around, but specifically at @paradisenj. And on one specific Saturday night, Amber performed her hits live for an absolutely packed crowd! From “Yes” to “Above The Clouds”, the crowd sang every word and Amber soaked up the adulation and gave the crowd a killer show!!

Do yourselves a favor and dive into Amber’s vast and storied catalog (and buy some of her music)! This voice was the backdrop for innumerable magical moments in dance floors across the world-and at Paradise!

Happy 27th anniversary to the album Amber by @dancedivaamber, released on September 21, 1999.
⁣
My top 3 favorite songs on the album:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. Above The Clouds - what a great way to open the album! Bought the cd single and 12” right when they came out.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. I’m Free - this may seem like an odd choice, as this is a mostly dance album and this song is a piano ballad, but I LOVE it. It knocked me out the first time I heard it. This song could be autobiographical for Amber. She’s opened our eyes to a lot of the shenanigans behind the scenes that music listeners never hear about. This song is about being true to yourself. “I just want to be myself.” What a powerful lyric.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Sexual (Li Da Di) - ohhhh boy. So much could be said about this classic. I remember buying the cd single before I had ever even heard the song. I saw it at Sam Goody and was like, Amber has a new song? Got home, played it, and almost died. 🤪 I don’t think there was a weekend in mid-1999/2000 when I didn’t hear this song in the clubs. It hit number 1 on my weekly chart for 13 weeks.⁣⁣ 🪩⁣

Amber - This Is Your Night
Release: 1 oktober 1996
Peak Mega Top 100: #14
Peak Nederlandse Top 40: #16

Ps.
Kort gezegd: De Mega Top 100 wordt voornamelijk samengesteld door de verkoop van singles, de Top 40 neemt ook airplay op de radio en televisie mee.

This Is Your Night—the debut studio album from Dutch dance-pop singer @dancedivaamber on limited edition 2x vintage bottle green vinyl 🤩

Released in 1996 via @tommyboyrecords—this is the 30th anniversary remastered pressing and includes four bonus remixes! 🙌🏻

Singles: This Is Your Night, Colour of Love, and One More Night (Hani Remix)

I cannot believe this album is now thirty years old—glad to see some of these 90s dance / pop acts getting on wax—back in the 90s vinyl was definitely not as popular as it is now—because I was there and do remember—it was all about CDs and I have a massive CD collection—maybe I should start a CD Instagram account at some point! 🤔
