First, wow Meena Harris has this elegant, tall presence that is so reassuring to stand next to. ❤️ Meena, I sure hope you have reassuring presences in your life too, just like you offer! Another note: I need a poster for page M of your A is for Ambitious book. When are the posters coming? If you don’t know already, hers is a powerful children’s book and my inner child is dancing. Swipe to see my M page! And see Meena being so gracious about my first book. 🙏🏽PS If you have her A is for Ambitious book, which letter is your inner child dancing for? Tell me! I wanna know. Ambitious is not a dirty word. It’s how cities are built and how flowers push out to be seen in the spring. Ambitious is a very good season, and that season lives in all of us. @meena by @dancewithneelam

Amazing book launch and SXSW workshop! I took my friend Jae’s advice when he told me during my NYC rehearsal: “What if it was easy?” I’m so proud of my work at SXSW. The simpler I made it, the more my audience digested it. Most of all, I’m proud of creating an expansive 90 min workshop my own way. I didn’t follow the coaches who suggested that I create stories to convert (aka manipulate) audience members into conversions for sales! The best compliment I got was from a guy who said he wasn’t sure why he attended, but he was so glad he did. I’m proud of the safety I created by having four friends in the room to support as staff. And I'm glad to have made the safety to be successful by organizing a celebration with @niviachanta in Seattle immediately after. Cheers to doing it your way. There are no experts of your life except for you. taken in SXSW by @dancewithneelam

Celebrate the messy middle! There’s no real “before” or complete “after” to any journey. The truth is we are all out here in the messy middle! So we may as well celebrate mid-move. If I am motivated by my hunger for some “after” state, then I will always be hungry. Instead, let’s get a little cozier in the imperfect in-between. Thank you to the talented @kooolant for sharing your gift in this form, and blessing my home with your voice so I can be intentional about leaving the place with good vibes as I move out. Thanks for keeping me company in the middle of my big move out of the nation's capital. <3 by @dancewithneelam

Create the world we want to live in? Without sponsorship from the structures that hold us back ? YES PLEASE. Poetry is an act of creation. Joy can be weaponized for change. Thank you @niviachanta and @soapboxproject for dreaming in 3D. Let’s keep making it real. by @dancewithneelam

When Rihanna said she found love in a hopeless place she meant @soapboxproject found her hope for a future amidst climate devastation

Honestly it felt like the day in the hospital when it looked like mom was just taking a nap like she did on days she got a ton of steps in. But it wasn’t a nap. It was my worst nightmare. This time, I had a dream and it felt like mom was just upstairs getting ready - that’s why she wasn’t downstairs yet. I asked her later what she was trying to tell me in the dream. And she says “you can go without me”. Thanks mom. It’s like I can leave from the hospital room with lungs full of air. It’s okay. Thank god for the duality of everything being perfectly okay and totally not okay too - at the very same time. Sending love on a very pretty Sunday afternoon. by @dancewithneelam

I used to read about putting yourself first, but after 90 days of hitting record, I finally have evidence in my body that I am worth showing up for.

Even when tired, spent, or having nothing obvious to say, I showed up authentically for myself.

If you’re currently building something new, posting regularly, or starting something a little scary—DM me. I’d love to do a simple one-time check-in with you in two weeks (mid Sept 2026) to see how you’re doing.

Hot Take: Staying unhealed can be the peace.

Two opposing things can be true at once—there are emotionally bumpy moments and periods in life, and we are perfectly fine too. Whatever is vibrating inside is what is alive, and that’s a good thing.

We get to be human on earth. What a cool opportunity.

Okay, everyone, love you so love yourself.

I can’t believe I found an overlap between coding and poetry. It’s all just expression from the mind. Life is rarely as binary as we think. The line between art and science... is there even a line? #showup90 #day87 @justinschumanofficial #artandscience #stem by @dancewithneelam
