24 & SO LUCKY☘️💝🇮🇪✨🥞🎀

My birthday had been becoming a somewhat sensitive time for me:
Three days before my 18th birthday in 2020, COVID lockdowns began & the world as we knew it changed. There was no celebration, no normality.

Later that year, I totaled my car while drunk driving. I went off to college and found myself in the perfect environment to continue destructive patterns.

Two weeks before my 21st birthday in 2023, my dad passed away and once again, my world changed forever.

I celebrated that birthday by drinking an entire pint of Hennessy (alone) before dinner. I’m sure the waiter loveddd hosing my vomit off the rooftop (😅) Later that year, I dropped out of college.

For a long time, I felt scared, alone, confused, and angry. Those events felt like valid excuses- reasons I could point to for why I felt the way I did.

But the truth is: there are no excuses. I felt that way because I was allowing myself to.

At the time, escaping my reality felt like the best way to cope. I relied on alcohol and smoking to get through my days. Deep down, I always knew something wasn’t right.

If you know me, you know I’ve been on a deep self-development journey for the past three years. There’s been so much growth, but something was still missing.

Unplanned, but definitely intentional: I completely cut out alcohol in 2026. 73 days down. Forever to go!!!

The joy and freedom I’ve found since then are indescribable. Letting go of alcohol and creating space to be present feels like I finally found the missing puzzle piece.

Here I am, celebrating my 24th birthday: surrounded by love, present enough to feel it, excited for my future, and truly confident and proud of the woman I’m becoming.

I’m sharing this because I know someone needs to hear it:  You are in control of your life. Choose not to run from it. Choose to embrace it with love and light.
