Our yearly pumpkin patch visit is complete! 🎃🍂

We’ve been doing this every year since Zen was just 11 months old, which makes it pretty crazy to think about how many pumpkin patch memories we’ve made over the years. 🥹

It’s definitely getting harder to squeeze in our traditions now that they’re all in school and life is so busy, but we made it happen today and even managed to avoid most of the rain! 🙌🏽

I’m just thankful that they still want to hang out with me and keep doing these things together. I know these days won’t last forever, and it really hit me today that I only have three more pumpkin patch visits with Zen before he graduates high school. 😭 I’m definitely holding onto these moments a little tighter.

And this year gave us some new memories for sure. 😂 We were halfway through the corn maze when the rain really started coming down… and Zen, of course, was wearing CROCS. He nearly went down multiple times trying to make it through the muddy maze. Which gave Sho the biggest laugh! 😂

Another pumpkin patch in the books. Another year of watching my boys grow up way too fast. 🎃🍁💜

These two powered through the day together! ⛳️💪🏽

Nick started golfing at 7 AM, and Sho joined him at 9:30 AM. From there, they kept each other going all day long. By the end of the night, Nick had golfed an incredible 140+ holes, with Sho right there alongside him for 115 holes!

It was so fun watching them play together, encourage each other, and just enjoy a full day on the course doing something they both love.

Nick is heading into his first year of college, and we’re wishing him all the best as he starts this next chapter! Hopefully when he’s home on breaks, these two can sneak in a few rounds together. ⛳️

115 HOLES!!! ⛳️🥳💜

Sho completed his First Tee Greater Seattle Golf-a-Thon today, and I could not be more proud of this kid!

He started golfing at 9:30 AM and finished at 9:30 PM — 12 HOURS of golf and a total of 115 holes! 🤯⛳️

Watching his determination throughout the day was incredible. He kept going, kept swinging, and had SO much fun along the way. He learned a ton, got to spend an entire day doing something he absolutely loves, and even finished the night playing a few rounds of glow-in-the-dark golf! 🌙⛳️

Thank you so much to EVERYONE who donated, shared his fundraiser, encouraged him, or sent well wishes. Sho felt all of the support, and we are so grateful. 💚

And it’s not too late! Donations are still open, so if you’d like to support Sho’s incredible 115-hole effort and help First Tee continue making golf accessible to more kids, there’s still time to donate.

Last one down! 🎒⛳️

Today is Sho’s official first day of 7th grade! His commute this morning was CRAZY… just rolled out of bed and somehow he was already there. 😂

This year, Sho decided to give online school a try. It’ll give him a little more flexibility with his schedule and, of course, more time to focus on golf. ⛳️

A new school year, a new way of learning, and hopefully lots of time on the course doing what he loves. Excited to see what this year brings for him!💜

And just like that… my oldest is a freshman. 🥹💜

The other day I asked Zen how he was feeling about starting high school. Nervous? Excited? He said, “Both.”

Then we talked about how this is going to be a big change. High school is where things start to get a little more serious, where he’ll learn how to focus and prepare for what comes next… including college.

His response: “I don’t even want to think about that yet. I feel like it was just last month that I was entering sixth grade.”

And honestly, SAME. 😭

How are we already here? I swear I blinked and somehow the little boy starting middle school is now walking into his freshman year of high school.

Time moves way too fast.

I’m emotional about this one, but more than anything, I’m excited for him. I hope this year is full of new experiences, new friendships, lots of laughter, challenges that help him grow, and opportunities to discover even more about who he is and who he wants to become.

I hope he learns all kinds of amazing things, tries things that scare him a little, finds his people, makes memories he’ll talk about for years, and has FUN along the way.

Freshman year. Here we go. 💙🧡

So incredibly proud of you, Zen. I hope high school is everything you want it to be and so much more.

These four sisters were like big sisters to me growing up at Beacon Lutheran Church on Beacon Hill.

Today, we were all together for the first time in many years as we gathered to celebrate the life of someone from our church family who meant so much to so many.

It’s bittersweet how loss can bring people back together, but seeing these familiar faces brought back so many memories. No matter how many years pass, some people will always feel like family. 💜 by @dangertimemama

Oakland, you were good to us! 💜

A little sightseeing, good food, plenty of laughs, and the best part, spending time with family and meeting family for the first time. So grateful for the memories made and the time together.
