The Storyteller’s Lens.

@dzofilm Arles VistaVision Full Frame Prime 35mm T1.4 lens.

My new investment!

🎬 I’ve finally purchased my own cine lens, after spending almost 2 years researching and dreaming. Thank you @cinegearpro for an excellent service.

“The Arles Prime lens series draws its name from the picturesque town of Arles in southern France, a cherished source of inspiration for Vincent Van Gogh. Renowned for its abundant sunlight and vibrant colors throughout the seasons, Arles catalyzed van Gogh’s departure from conventional artistic styles.

DZOFILM’s Arles Prime series, with its T1.4 fast apertures, captures the dynamic interplay of light and shadow, igniting fresh possibilities for artistic expression and cinematic creativity.”

Precision. Character. Control.

The 35mm is made for storytelling.

Fun fact: Regan wasn’t posing for this image. She was on her phone during a break from filming and I simply took her photo. 1 image taken only, poster sorted.

A wonderful experience working as part of the camera crew for new feature film ‘Zip Wire’ 🎬

1 week in Cyprus and 3 weeks in @troubadourstudios We wrapped on Friday night and it feels like we’ve achieved something pretty damn cool together.

First time working with director @howard.j.ford and DOP @konstantinfreyer alongside very familiar faces @orlandoomahoney @sonnyhorwell @_aliceryan_ @_alexjeffs_ Jason Ford and Terry Bird.

Featuring @myannaburing @thatjosephmillson @silvia_presente @_helenhill @levifatz and Saffron Burrows (who I got to chat with about Gangster No.1!!!)

An amazing cast.

A thrilling story.

I can’t wait to share it next year!!!

At last! Our film is being screened!!

This upcoming Bank Holiday weekend is the WORLD PREMIERE of ‘A Smile For Her’.

🍿 Romford Film Festival 2025 🍿

Monday 26th May
8pm

@romfordfilmfestival

The newly opened @lumiereromford hosts the festival this year (Mercury Shopping Centre, same location as the usual Romford Film Festival). A truly independent cinema that is more focused on community, world cinema, arthouse as well as mainstream. Very cool.

The short is playing before a feature called ‘The Broken Arrow’.

🎬 Here’s an exclusive scene, featuring actor David Streames as we get ready to share ‘A Smile For Her’ to the world!

Absolutely buzzing to share this new photo.

Myself and legendary actor Julian Glover (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Star Wars, For Your Eyes Only) on set for upcoming feature film ‘Borley Recotory: The Awakening’.

I was 1st Assistant Director, and it was a joyous, humbling and very surreal experience with him on set. I had butterflies discussing the movie Tár with Julian, and made sure his experience with us was as comfortable as possible.

🎬 I found him witty and incredibly sharp, and at 90 years old he delivered a masterclass in acting.

I really can’t wait to see our film out there, it’ll be incredible. A HUGE shout out to the wonderful cast and amazing crew.

Thanks Steve for the opportunity 👻

It's finally online. I just wish he was around to watch it with us.

'Alleviate', a slow-burning, narratively complex short film I wrote and directed back in 2023 is available on YouTube. I don't expect most people to watch it, or get through the whole thing. It's a challenging story that doesn't make much sense until the end.

But that doesn't matter to me. I've seen wonderful reviews, and I've seen confused faces. I've had the film rejected countless times by film festivals and online streamers, but it's fine. We made something really special that can now be watched forever, and it's all down to Darren Kent's performance. The star of the film.

I cried so much getting this film edited; he was in so much pain as we filmed it. He gave us this gift and I'm so thankful we have this film for the rest of our lives to enjoy (if that's the right word). An amazing performance from an amazing young man.

He viewed it before he passed away, and was so happy with what he saw. His last words in our WhatsApp chat: "You have a winner with this one buddy x"

Thank you mate. I'm so glad you got to see it with your mum.
