Saturday was a trip to watch some footy at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium, home to Sevilla FC. Luckily for us, Barcelona were in town during our trip.
Our seats were up in the gods but the design of this old fashioned stadium meant you felt close to the action all the time, those stands were steep! 👀
The home fans were in good voice throughout, especially in the first half where Sevilla matched Barça man for man. Watch out for their number 30, Miguel Sierra, a cracking young player going places and number 2 Juan Iglesias, a right back keeping Anthony Gordon in his pocket. When Fofana scored, the stadium burst into life with a drawn out chant in his name "FO-NA NA NA NA NA NANA NANA NA NA", brilliant!
Barcelona bossed the second half and showed why they are one of the best teams in the world, winning 1-3. Raphinia was the difference with a cool hat-trick. The home fans still applauded their own players at the end which was good to see.

4 nights in Seville - done.
Just shy of 96,000 steps. Average temperature of 35 degrees.
A beautiful city, friendly people and so much architecture to view. Beautiful parks with parakeets chirping away all morning.
Away from the main hotel restaurants, there are great local restaurants where we could get dinner and drinks for under 50 euros. *best price was 38 euros!
I worried about being veggie and finding food, but had no issues.
We went to watch Seville V Barcelona on Saturday - the match didn't start until 9pm (👀). It quickly transpired that buying tickets means nothing, people rocked up and chose a seat, moved people at their own will, and if you are afraid of heights- don't sit higher up, I had jelly legs even sitting down on the narrow concrete "extension". There is no alcohol permitted in the stadium- but smoking and eating sunflower seeds is permitted 🤷‍♀️ you can see why, they are "passionate" about football- I don't speak Spanish, but it was clear they did not like the referee! (Barcelona won).
It was a great way for me and Dan to just switch off for a bit, there has been so much going on, I don't think you realise your mind needs a break until you take one.
Kudos to Dan for organising it all and taking on some language barriers as I just stared trying to figure out what to say, and for also putting up with my random wondering to go look at something. We tried to speak some Spanish - but apparently spent the whole holiday calling the hotel name wrong, not sure what we were actually saying but it gave 1 guide a giggle and said "it is not possible that your hotel is called that" 🤔
Back to reality. Lots to focus on, but first the return to life washing!

Thank you to @highlandfuelnutrition for sending over some of your 55g carb mix last weekend for my Blencathra marathon. I was quite taken by the raspberry flavour 🍓. I had a strong race and zero gut issues. Win/win.
I'll be bringing some over for the @coastaltrailrunners recces later this year and in the spring to road test (if there's any left 😏)

Crazy couple of days in Cumbria.
Trees in road 🌲, lumps in road 🪨 and cows in road 🐄🐄🐄🐄 all stopped play on the drive. Great Stereophonics tribute band #thephonics at #tanhillinn thanks for the 🎁 @georgebgclark ! Lots of fun catching up with number 1 son and a few too many 🍻
Hike up #highcupnick the next morning, reminiscing the last time I was there on the #spinerace.
I even managed to "throw a marathon in" today, taking in 5 #wainwrights, a lovely tin pot event hosted by the charm bracelet team. I even bumped in to a couple of @coastaltrailrunners legends up there!

The result doesn't always match the experience, another great weekend in the Lake District. We took a lucky shot and missed our target. 50 miles together with all the emotions was time well spent.
That's a fucker of a route too!
