The Sauna is warm

Installation: Cyanotype on fabric, wood, 2 Sompasauna-benches (1 wrapped in Cyanotype on fabric),

2 Kimonos -sewn out of cyanotype on fabric, blue shoe covers, 2 pair of blue sandals, board for shoes,

Instructions

1. Put on the slippers or take a shoe cover for your shoes
2. Take a kimono to wear
3. Step in and blend in with the artwork
4. Sit, if you want

This work in my graduation show Kuvan Kevät 2024 is a Sauna - Installation that I have wanted to do for a long time. It contains more than 40 square meter fabric with cyanotype, which shows a collage of photographs, drawings, cut-outs and paintings. The images document my journey and relationship with Sauna and my bodily elaboration with it.
It's a work you have to experience yourself as a visitor with stepping into the artwork itself.

This work resembles an experience, stepping into another world. A Space where the here and now is nonexistent.
You may see the whole picture, and can feel a change which avokes a physical state of mind.

I want to share my experience of the performance on 4th of February in Helsinki.

Performance Titel: Embrace Trace

Shades, Shaped, Sharp - woman made, the Trace is showing. You never know what you are going to get next, it's a myserical myth.
Over and over and over again.
No end. No Beginning.

A female perspective of the own trace in the middle of of nudity and vulnerability.
Hunting my shades and silhouettes with colour.
