As an Australian East Coaster, I don’t really get the opportunity to take photos of the sun setting over the Pacific very often. I’ve taken so many on this tour of the U.S West Coast; it’s as if I feel I’ll never get the chance again. I never get tired of seeing it happen; the colours, the mist, the way the light changes subtly but hugely every second before it slips away. You’ve waited for what feels like an eternity and then it’s all happening and over in what feels like a minute. Planet Earth, simply put, is extraordinary. I used a 135mm lens on this to bring the sun closer. Next time I wanna use a bigger one if I can find it. by @danieljamesparsons

Forests are often telling two stories at once…Before and after fire. Swollen rivers, crystal clear water - this area of Oregon was breathtaking. Literally - at this altitude, I struggled for breath.

A life in music.

I read somewhere recently: "Remember that where you're standing today was once a goal."

Normally, those kinds of tidy, potentially over-simplified sentiments don't mean much to me. But on this particular day, it found its way in.

I'm not really one to draw attention to myself online. I'd much rather let the music and the associated art do the talking. But in this moment, I'm allowing myself a rare public affirmation.

I've never really stopped following the trail of my own creative curiosity. That said, there have been countless moments where I've put my relationship with the music world on the chopping block, had a real good look at it, even had the knife in my hand a few times.

Simply put, I'm quietly proud that I'm still here - writing, recording, performing, traveling, improving. The goal was never really money, it was about following a kind of childlike, soul journey wherever it led.

The fact that there are people out there who connect with the music I make is something I'll never take for granted. For that, I'm deeply grateful.

And after all these years, I keep coming back.
