Back in 2015 Robin Waters and I got together in Melbourne with a bunch of crazy cats and made an album in a week. No overdubs, no second takes, just a bunch of funny ideas and the requisite amount of mayhem. Thin Air Project released “March Gathering 2015” over on Bandcamp at the time, where you can still find it to purchase. I am pleased to let you know that you can now hear it on all the streamers! Except Spotify. Those guys are weapons-invested c&nts, I’m not giving them everything. I recommend Tidal instead. Better quality.

Anyhow if you really want to send your algorithm to a weird place, get busy with this link: https://artists.landr.com/ThinAirProject (also via bio)

Massive thanks to all involved… James O’Brien, Dan Parsons, Selwyn Cozens, Jake Rush, Tim Harvey, Ben Tolliday, Jackson Payne, Scott McConnachie and Matt Nelson (vale)… making for the sake of making ❤️

New faces around here (hiiiii 👋) and familiar ones too! I thought I’d re-introduce myself!
I’m Charlie Lane, a Melbourne singer-songwriter and disability advocate making chaos in the indie pop, folk and blues genres.

November is Aus Music Month, so I shared four of my fave Aussie artists in the video …but honestly, I could’ve gone on forever!!
Here are a few more that have been on high rotation:

@rubymaemusic
@merpiremusic
@danieljamesparsons
@jay.santillimusic
@joanandthegiants
@mudrat.mp3
@slizzardqueen
@mattdixonguitar
@emileesouth

Who’s your pick? Drop your favourite artist in the comments 👇 I’m always looking for new tunes!

Hope to see you at a show soon and thanks for supporting Australian music ❤️

Crikey @dorrigofolkbluegrassfest truly was the most beautiful festival, what an honour to be a part of it. Soaked up so much inspiring music and art, played many tunes with pals, and generally loved being in the midst of the incredible community the fest cultivates.

Thursday October 23rd 7pm Pearces Creek Hall:

Minor Gold Way to the Sun Australian Album Tour

Way to the Sun: a lush, harmony-drenched blend of cosmic country and folk.

Recorded over seven sun-soaked days at Ultimate Hair Farm in Glendale, California, the album slowly emerged like a hazy mirage from a cosmic, suburban dream. Poolside barbecues, late-night percussion jams, and moonlit swims shaped a record that felt more discovered than made. Written across Australian highways and finished in Middle America, it’s a bold evolution - seeking light in the shadows, and letting go just enough to watch the sun rise.

Produced by Dan Horne (Mapache, Cass McCombs), Way to the Sun has been widely embraced by Australian radio, with multiple singles added to Double J and ABC Country – the album has also garnered international acclaim named Best New Music by UNCUT, hit #1 on Americana Radio Adds USA, and praised for its “alluring telepathy... rarely heard in country music since Emmylou Harris rode shotgun with Gram Parsons.”

After three years of international touring and festival appearances across North America, the UK, and Europe, Minor Gold are back - bringing their irresistible live show and new songs to audiences across the country.

Catch them while you can.

★★★★ Shindig (UK)

★★★★ Rhythms Magazine

★★★★★ Folk/Tumble "a joyous listen from beginning to end.”

★★★★ RNR (UK)

"Trippy folk wonderment...a delightful pairing." UNCUT

Top Albums for July - Double J

PBS Feature Album / 2SER Feature Album / ABC Country Feature Album

"Retro California sounds brought bang up to date." - Americana UK

“There’s an alluring telepathy to the way the voices curl around each other, rarely heard in country music since Emmylou Harris rode shotgun with Gram Parsons, aligned to eloquent lyrics.” – UNCUT (UK)

“Blissful, harmony-rich Americana associated with Laurel Canyon’s early-70s pomp, washed with psychedelic pedal steel” – PROG Magazine (UK)
