A symbol for the healing that the Chattooga has to offer.

My favorite design of mine to this day. It encompasses some of my favorite wildlife in the area (including the kayaker).

can name all the the wildlife in the pill 😏⬇️ by @danielle.maayan.art

“Bull Sluice”
8in by 10in
Watercolor and gel pen on paper

This painting is done in “Plein Air” which is a French Impressionist term meaning it was painted in open air.

I was lucky enough to show this piece in the “Wild” show last month at the Gateway arts Center in Westminster South Carolina.

Prints available ~ Message if interested 💜 taken in Long Creek, SC by @danielle.maayan.art

At the end of my season this summer working in the sales office @wetplanet I got to take a lil work vacation and float down the Main Salmon River with the company in August.

It was so lovely to take a break from life and float down the main Salmon for 6 days and 5 nights.

I have written about the experience as well as my painting practice on the Wet Planet blog, which is now published!

Search “A Practice of Presence on Idaho’s Main Salmon River” to read the article 😌🌲 by @danielle.maayan.art

Exploration and play are themes both in life and im my art.

Art is one of the places where I tap back into looseness. Turning the brain off. Putting pastel to wood (in this case) and seeing what happens.

Its translates to a certain type of abstractness in the mark-making as I capture a moving open subject. Depicting the movement of the water, the light and even the wind.

This first trip to the Oregon coast opened my eyes to the secret sauce of the cute beaches tucked next to the small towns.

And now I have the art to remind me of the feeling of being there!✨🌊 by @danielle.maayan.art

This one Is special in a few ways.

It was captured on a very special beach mission, I got to spend a solid hour working on it (which feels rare), and it brought up this thought that I am becoming familiar with the depictions of oceans now.

As I worked on this, the sun would come out and then hide again. The landscape for the most part had this grey blue shadow cast over it. by @danielle.maayan.art
