⚜️⚜️. SAVE THE DATE - SATURDAY FEB 8th ⚜️⚜️

The Writers’ Room of Wild Pansy press are delighted to announce our next publication and performance; Saint Joan of BFD by January’s resident Danielle Wilde.

Danielle Wilde is a poet and writer from Yorkshire. Her words have appeared in Vogue, Dazed, Stylist and the fevered dreamscapes of tracksuit nihilists across the North of England. Danielle has performed for Queer Bloomsbury festival at Charleston House, for Ultraviolet at KKWEER Arts and in collaboration with Caleb Femi as part of his Sloghouse collective in performances at Deptford Literature Festival and Bold Tendencies. In 2024, FEM Press published Deep North, her first pamphlet which examines class, culture, desire and the queer hauntology of the North.

During her residency, Danielle has been producing a sonnet cycle inspired by the mythology of Joan of Arc and set in a Bradford Catholic Girls School in the 90s. Illustrated with collages made from 90s teen magazines, this multi-disciplinary piece examines faith, queerness, patriarchy and violence aligned with Eric Gill’s 14 Stations of the Cross.

Join us on Saturday 8th February for Danielle’s Open Studio, 4 - 6pm, where you can buy the Joan of Arc pamphlet, visit her installation and talk to her about her work. Later that evening, Danielle will be sharing two very special performances within Holy Trinity Church, next door to The Writers’ Room, at 7pm and 8pm, where she will be performing her sonnet cycle live.
