@ohuhuart kindly sent me their set of 48 alcohol markers to try along with their acid-free marker pad sketchbook. I’ve been curious about their markers for a while, so I was excited to experiment with them. 🤗

I really enjoyed playing with the transparency of the markers and building up layers almost like watercolours. The brush tips and texture remind me of painting but without the hassle of taking out my paints. It’s great for sketchbooking on the go!

Overall, I like the quality—they’re very enjoyable to use and layer. I will note that the colours don’t match the caps 100%, so it’s important to swatch out the colours first, but that didn’t bother me too much!

Ohuhu is offering a 10% discount on their website with the code DANIEDRAW10, if that’s something you’re interested in. ❤️ by @daniellebennettdraws

A few of my favourite spreads in my tiny sketchbook. 💗 I love this sketchbook's playful and experimental energy—something I need more of these days. (Note to self!)

This sketchbook is more than halfway full now, so I’m hoping to do a sketchbook tour once it’s done. 🥰

Work in progress photos of my last painting 🐻
Last year, I bought this second hand drafting table and it’s been so lovely to have a separate space for painting. I had always dreamt of having one like this. Clamped on these pieces of wood to hold my materials in place and it’s been an enjoyable way to work. ❤️ by @daniellebennettdraws

(Swipe ➡️ to see the full painting 🍰)

I started this painting at the beginning of the year but sadly left it unfinished—until now! I usually plan my illustrations, resolve compositional issues and plan colours digitally. However, I was so eager to jump into this painting that I left much of the planning to the wayside and decided to figure things out on the page. It was great initially until I got frustrated and gave up on it.

My perfectionist tendencies can lead to overthinking and abandoning personal projects before seeing them through. Trying to be kinder to myself these days prompted me to pick the painting up again. I’m happy I decided to push through to finish it. I learned so much in the process. ❤️

I recently got back from a three week trip to the Philippines with my husband and family. It was a special time with countless memories to cherish. Here are a few paintings I managed to paint during moments of downtime. What a beautiful place. ❤️🇵🇭

I was looking through photos of my work, and this painting from a couple of years ago is still a favourite of mine. It felt like a good reminder of what I am looking for in my art and process these days. 🐻🦊💕
