If you’re home with a baby, I’m dead serious you better be sleeping when the baby sleeps… You’re gonna need it 15 years from now.

But in all seriousness… Are we going to bed before they do? Do we give up the 5 AM goal? Do we just acknowledge that 7+ hours is a hope + a prayer at this point and continue to live off of caffeine and 10 minute cat naps in the pick up line or before games?! 😂

This was the dream all along. I just wanted to be able to BE THERE.

Not never having to work.
Not some perfectly balanced life.

Just having enough freedom in my days to say, “Yep. I can go.” Whether it helping at the school, running to appointments, cheering from the sidelines or jumping on a plane for a weekend full of memory making goodness.

Welcome to my first talking diary of becoming a runner 😅

The fact that I am absolutely GASSED while recording this feels very appropriate. Let’s hope the running AND recording quality improves if I keep doing these.

But your friendly reminder for today:

You don’t have to have it all figured out to start.

You don’t even have to know if you’re going to be good at it.

Sometimes you just have to say yes and figure it out as you go.

First time SENIOR mom reporting for duty… and I’m taking this role VERY seriously 😅🫶🏼

I know this season will bring a whole new range of emotions but I’m just so proud of this girl and all she’s becoming.

I freaking blinked and somehow we ended up here celebrating TWENTY YEARS of marriage. If I could have known back then what was in store for us… I would have run even faster to that altar. (As if that was possible 🤪 IYKYK)

Over the last several months we’ve talked about all sorts of ways to celebrate and then we decided all we wanted to do this year was silence our phones and spend the day floating on the water… our plates are full, our brains are always on and we just wanted silence + together. And we wanted to be close to our favorite humans … so it was only fitting that the night ended with them piled on top of us in bed. ◡̈

The common theme throughout our conversations today was just how overwhelmingly grateful we are for the way the Lord has blessed our family. I sure don’t deserve all the goodness He has poured into our lives, but I’m grateful beyond words. Being Ted’s wife and raising these four together IS my greatest joy.

My word for the year is stewardship… And one of the areas that I’m focusing on is how I steward my time. Which has led me to think more about what I consume.

Yesterday I unfollowed 600+ accounts.

Not because they were bad. Because I realized I was feeling behind before my day had even started.

Protecting your peace isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about removing the noise.

I challenge you to do a little audit… How many people are you letting speak into you on a daily basis? How intentional are you with what shows up in your feed? by @daniellelawver

HISTORY MADE

These girls are SUPER SECTIONAL CHAMPS and are headed to STATE for the first time in girls basketball history…

What’s even more special about this year is this team has 3 sets of sisters, one assistant coach won 2 state championships in highschool on this same court, and our other assistant watched his daughter win it last year… and now Ted gets to experience this with 2 of his own daughters.

My heart is exploding knowing what they are about to experience over the next 4 days.

So here’s the little project I jumped into last week for two very special girls’ Senior Night!

Being a coach’s wife is one of my favorite roles… but this year it hit a little different when the seniors are my daughter’s best friends — and next year, she’s one of them 😭

I planned to order from @fresh_prints_of_belaire but time wasn’t on my side. After seeing a reel where she shared exactly how she does it (a rare gift these days), I figured why not try it myself. Worst case scenario we just pretend this never happened 🫣

I totally surprised myself… and now I’m already plotting ideas for next year’s seniors. Let this be your reminder it’s never too late to try something new… or just be more prepared and order from the professionals 😂

When you’re preteen wants you to do this trend… But it takes the entire trip to execute, and you’re missing a kid for the final clip because he’s too exhausted from cliff jumping for açai 😂
