It’s with great joy that I share that my poetry cookbook “Danitra Tierra: It Was Always Love,” will be released on April 1, 2027, during National Poetry Month. The book is a celebration of and reflection on what I feel is the true meaning of life- love. The book features poetry and delicious corresponding recipes- all lovingly compiled. Poems on Agape Love, Romantic Love, Familial Love, Friendship, Grief, Loyalty, Passion, Betrayal, Self-Love, Discernment, Grace & Redemption. I am a new voting member (Class of 2025) @grammys, served as a 1st time @grammyu mentor and it’s been an amazing & enlightening experience. This Friday, April 17th @natljazzmuseum! @gabrielagonjon is a NYC based photographer and globetrotter. Gabriela studied architecture @ccnycitycollege. She works in construction management while simultaneously working to become a licensed architect. Gabriela’s smile and infectious personality is as bright as her camera flash! On Friday, April 17th, we look forward to celebrating Spoken Word Throughout The Generations. We all need one another.🥹💜 We will start off with the former NYC Youth Poet Laureate @poeticallyfathmah A/K/A “Generation Got Next!” and will close out the show with the legendary Last Poets @thelastpoetsofficial- because of them, spoken word is, and we celebrate and honor them. In addition to the featured poets, I’m thrilled to have the following guest artists for the evening: the amazing violinist @classique516, the exquisite dancing of @laurabellydancer, my @grammyu mentee @natalyawelcome on steel pan and her sister! @grammyu mentee @rushannawelcome on vocals, along with the songstress @twilightjoi. This evening is complimentary to the public as my poetic gift to the community for National Poetry Month.
