The weavers of Pisac

We got a spontaneous workshop provided by Beatrice, she’s been weaving for 10 years!

We randomly heard about this family from a lady who sells food in the market. She kindly connected us to the family☺️

Our attempt in weaving a bracelet. They sell these bracelets for 5 soles (€1,29)

Tha family of Ccana. They dedicate their life for the community of artists near Pisac. Such a welcoming family, and we had a wholesome moment chatting with them🤗

The lunch they provided before the workshop. These unique veggies are grown in their village. Very tasty😋

The traditional tool they use to roll the sheep wool. We’re lucky to get to try how to use it✨

These wools are made with natural dyes, from plants, flowers to one using urine. Guess which color is it?😜

I had the opportunity to visit and speak directly to the museum owner, Edilberto Merida, and her sister, Paloma. Visiting the warehouse and seeing the behind-the-scenes process made the visit even more incredible.

The first few days after we arrived in Cusco hit hard, and adjusting to the high altitude wasn't easy. We could definitely feel how easily we tire out, whether from standing up too soon, walking too fast, or going uphill.

But what a place⛰️✨
Everyday waking up to breakfast surrounded by the Sacred Valley.
We used to stare at a laptop screen every day, so a break like this is a breath of fresh air (even though it’s harder to breathe😆)

There are 35 rescued stray dogs living here & most have been abandoned and abused, when they simply want love and food🥺
Tho I am quite surprised by their behavior in a large group, how they attack the weak or injured.

Going back to living a slow life in nature humbles me, requiring me to unlearn how instant everything used to be.

From chopping wood, gathering leaves, making fire, cooking meals, painting walls, doing these things by hand, really makes us value the process and the result more.

You’re probably waiting for funding to start your company. Here’s what Danna, Co-Founder of @podego_app realized: she needed believers and one customer way more than she needed a perfect capital round, and everything else followed from there.

Lesson: stop waiting for the perfect funding moment because your first believer and your first customer are going to teach you more than any investor ever could, and they’re going to tell you that you’re onto something real before any money shows up!💸

Spending two days at Kulturkraft really drove home how much we can learn by sharing communities or fanbases across different sectors.

The sessions covered inspiring insights from data-driven research and social listening to influencer marketing in cultural sector. And because it’s a cultural conference, we even got a lesson in folk dancing between sessions.

We were honored to be invited this year, with our co-founder, Danna Mulya, joining the speakers and international guests for a dedicated networking evening before the main event.

The most interesting takeaway was the involvement of football clubs. It’s a unique bridge between sports and cultural institutions that could be explored more.

And it also explains how Danna walked away with a goodie bag and her first-ever football jersey from Wrexham, fab David Bowie totebag from @vamuseum & a scarf from FC Bilbao😉
