I was telling my friend that we’re only six months into the year, and I’ve already had to present my passport for entry into four different countries. In just two weeks, it’ll be five.

Traveling is my therapy, my joy, and my reset. I’ve been blessed to experience so many incredible places, and there are still so many more waiting for me.

The Congo is absolutely on my list. I know now isn’t the right time to travel there, so I’ll hold on to my seed funds and trust God’s timing. When the time is right, I’ll be there.

I truly love to travel. I get that from my mom and dad, my sister, and my cousins, especially the @chiles00 family and the Shears family. I also have so many friends who too enjoy the experience of wheels up/safe landing ❤️✈️🌍 by @dannie_b2

Late post… I’ve been on the move! 🔥

Last week, NYC was absolutely lit! The first-ever Power Player Suite exceeded every expectation. It was off the cuff, spontaneous, and full of incredible energy.

The best part? The phone started ringing the very next day.

“I heard about the event… I want to be put on the list.”

Now that’s how you know you created something special. The buzz is real, and this is only the beginning.

Stay tuned… because Power Player Suite is just getting started. 🔥✨ by @dannie_b2

Early morning train to NYC! She made sure we got the quiet car and immediately told me not to talk to her. 😂 She is definitely NOT a morning person. 🥴

As for me… I’m over here feening for a cup of coffee. ☕️🫪 by @dannie_b2

Although I am sharing this video, I actually do know why I have been home the last few days, glued to the TV, praying, and very much emotionally triggered.
I have stayed close to home for the past two days, intentionally choosing to cook and find space for myself. If you saw me, you wouldn’t know what I am going through—but as I type this, the tears are falling. The Nolan Wells case has been deeply triggering.

I need people to stop assuming that those around them are okay. I want to be transparent: there are days when I am not okay. I find myself reaching for the very same tools I teach my clients to use. I am human, and I am real.

We need to do better at checking in on families who are raising young Black men. We need to have the necessary, uncomfortable conversations about how society continues to see them.

I believe in the value of diverse racial and cultural friendships—I have them myself—but there is a standard that must be upheld. A young Black man should never be in a space, particularly one that is predominantly white, where his protection, his consideration, and his well-being are not treated as an absolute priority.

Island. Dorm room. Boating. School. Streets. Friends. The location or circumstance may change, but the pain does not. “Every parent has the right to fight for answers about what happened to their child.” by @dannie_b2

Turkey legs smothered in rich gravy, creamy mashed potatoes with onions and garlic, and collard greens… comfort food at its finest.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. I’ve dealt with one fire after another—including a health emergency, international travel, and having to defend my “why”… at a cost.

Tonight, I intentionally pressed the pause button. There was something so therapeutic about preparing a home-cooked meal while sipping a glass of wine, listening to good music, and simply enjoying the moment. Every stir of the pot reminded me that sometimes slowing down is exactly what the soul needs.

In just a few days, I’ll be catching trains and planes again—NYC, ATL, and then two, maybe three, international trips. But for this moment, I chose home.

This meal was made with love, seasoned with gratitude, accompanied by good music and a glass of wine, and covered by God’s grace. Sometimes the best way to restore yourself is to nourish your body, protect your peace, and remember what truly matters. by @dannie_b2

Beautiful evening. Beautiful people.

I wish I could have made it to several spots, but I’m still on the mend. I’m not completely 100% yet, but I’m so much better!

Wait… is that @mizzblackwell? My home girl’s song is blasting on the radio!

Also celebrating a milestone in my own quiet way, glass raised, toast 🥂, HBD🎂EP4Life💫💛

Cookouts, fireworks, good music, and gratitude. Hope everyone is enjoying a safe and beautiful holiday! ❤️🎆 by @dannie_b2

I went from laughing in a mall to emergency surgery in less than 24 hours.

Tuesday, I was at the mall on a date with a friend, feeling 100% healthy.

Then around midnight, everything changed. I got violently sick, and the pain in my stomach shot straight through my back. I knew this was more than food poisoning.

4:00 a.m., I was in the ER. MRI, ultrasound, and CT scans. The doctor told me my gallbladder had to come out immediately because it was affecting my kidneys and pancreas.

11:00 a.m., it was removed. 6:00 p.m., I was discharged. And by 2:00 a.m., I was on my flight to Panama. ✈️🇵🇦

I’m so grateful to God for covering me, and his perfect timing. What if this happened while out the country? To the doctors and nurses who moved quickly, to my mom and Jamal, and to my friend who stayed by my side. My LS NaTanya for being my flight assistant. Once I got to Panama, my line sisters showed up for me too. Some of my line are doctors and nurses, so I had plenty of love and care around me, and I’m thankful for that kind of sisterhood🔺💫🙌🏽

With stitches, soreness, and a swollen tummy, I dont look like what I’ve been through—I throw up my hands and give God all the praise. Healing is now my priority, and I’m thankful to still be here, still smiling, take this trip, and rest by the Panama Canal.

Sometimes God doesn’t stop the storm—He simply carries you through it. 🐘🐘🐘🔺

The Trigger That Cost Me and Blessed Me

Yesterday, I was triggered.

What started as a question became an avalanche of emotions. Looking back, I had to ask myself not only what was said, but how my own triggers, tone, and behavior may have shaped my questioning and response.

Humans feed off one another. One reaction can spark another. Before long, what began as a conversation can become a ball of misplaced emotions, perceptions, opinions, and unsubstantiated assumptions.

Then came the 2 a.m. phone call.

A young man was in crisis, triggered by a perception, an experience, a fear. He was about the same age my angel son would be today.

As he shared his story, I found myself relating to parts of it. While he thought he was calling me for help, he had no idea God was using him to help me too.

I remember thinking, Really, God?

After the day I had, here I was helping someone else navigate a trigger while still processing my own.

Triggers are relatable. We all have them. Some we bury. Some we manage. Some remain hidden until a familiar situation brings them back to the surface.

The reality is that our triggers can trigger others.

That’s why we must listen more, assume less, ask questions, extend grace, and pray before allowing a moment to become an avalanche.

I’ve never seen an avalanche return to the mountain once it begins.

But I know a God who restores.

Yesterday taught me that what cost me also blessed me—if that’s such a thing.

The trigger revealed something in me that still needed attention. It also prepared me for someone else’s moment of need.

Through it all, my heart remained intact.

I stood on my truth.

I learned.

I grew.

I remained relatable.

And somewhere between my trigger and his healing, I felt my son’s presence.
