In the Yorkshire village of Bolton Percy is this old disused pub,one of many such closed which are owned by Samuel Smith brewery. Ironically the original Samuel Smith is buried in the churchyard nearby. It is a lovely old place and the yard pump on the front of the building is dated 1801. The brewery also owns a quarry, hence the large boulders placed to prevent vehicles taking advantage. Should it ever open again then I look forward to visiting. by @danny.rust.142

A few years back then Network Rail rebuilt the bridge over the River Ouse at York and also undertook access improvements. The embankments were seeded with a wildflower mix which is looking glorious now, even under a stormy sky. by @danny.rust.142

All those years of watching Blue Peter seem to have paid off with this bug hotel made using scraps of wood, twigs and a tin can. Here's one I made earlier. by @danny.rust.142

I forgot to cut the sage plant on my allotment back in the spring so that it can produce new leaves. It has rewarded me with these wonderful flowers, which the bees certainly enjoy. by @danny.rust.142

A residential street not far from London's Waterloo station, Whittlesey Street, which seems to be kept by the residents on constant standby for the filming of period dramas. by @danny.rust.142

Living in the beautiful city of York has many advantages but unfortunately a few disadvantages also. Heavy rain in the Dales can lead to flooding in the city but also sink holes can suddenly appear. Since we moved here 9 years ago there have been 7 of the latter in nearby streets, including this one a few days ago. Worryingly they seem to be getting closer. by @danny.rust.142
