REEALITY : 🌲 Over the past half a year I have been circling around a thought and ultimately what that means for (my) reality, experiences, feelings, happiness. I was fascinated by the philosophical question that is inspired by Irish Philosopher Charles Berkeley and that came to live in a publication called “The Chautauquan“ in 1884: If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? The approaches of that thought experiment are all valid and it is fun to play around with it. I took it a bit further and thought about the reality, the realness and the fakeness of today’s world, especially online and what it does to the perception. Like for example, does an experience loose value if it is not shared on a social network or if the reactions you get there are not as expected? I have been twisting that thought around especially on vacation when I try to not be so much on my phone, or, like in this case, just use it as a camera. This is the result: A visualised thought written by me, inspired by a very old yet very modern question, inspired by the mountains I was partially raised in, by Moby, by Christopher McCandless, by Dante and Lotte and many other things and people. I did not film the images after the voiceover was done, but simply filmed with my iPhone when I felt something and then matched those experience s to my thought. I hope you enjoy it.

Another one. Independent work with so many good people for @ful_fillin from @broke.today 🩸those projects are always as much fun as challenging, cause no budget and while a maximum of flexibility is needed. I loved being a part of it. Thank you @paul.guenther for involving me. Let‘s get that @760studio rolling. I tagged everyone I could find. The rest you can find in the credits at the end.

❄️🌬️🌊 Sound on! Someone told me I have a way of noticing moments in everyday life that most people overlook — that I see things others pass by. I want to share more of those finds.

Here’s another one: a lonely boat disappearing into the snowy waters of Houthavens, Amsterdam.

If a tree falls in a forest, and you are not there to witness it, does it make a sound?

Some frames and thoughts from an upcoming visualized thought I created. More Friday.

💚🦆Sound on! Someone told me I have a way of noticing moments in everyday life that most people overlook — that I see things others pass by. I want to share more of those finds.

Here’s one of them: a duck in the rain, swimming through a sea of green, shot during a rainy walk in Erasmuspark, Amsterdam.

BTS INK - „… but a filmmaker needs an army.“ - Orson Wells. I have worked on the project INK for a few years now and we are pulling it together with a small army. I am not comparing anything to Mr. Wells but writing, directing and producing is a different game I realized and I had to think of the quote a lot, because I am working with a small army by now. Doing it in a new environment, a new city, has raised the bar of the challenge even more. So, I am very thankful for the help of all people involved so far. It is crazy to see how an idea motivates others to help create. It is all still WIP but already a huge shoutout already to @steijn_leijzer from @empirefilm.nl for being a massive help to @emilebeaubien to @milantomasz and @_mikeydejong_ to @this_is_cory from @looks.like.paradise to @_marianne_elena to @masdemi to @lottevanuum to @juergenbranz to @door_open_space to @seraphina_maria to @paul.guenther to @bodjinde to @davidbittenicht and in case I forgot someone, which usually happens: sorry! Feel free to embarrass me in the comments.

📻 Radio Brooklyn - As I recorded the musicians at the end of the film I decided to use their sound for a brief visual trip through my time in Brooklyn (yes, I asked them if it was ok). I walked a lot, saw a lot, visited some places I knew would inspire me, shoutout to Mookie, and I will be back. It is a bit shorter than I thought I would make it but I am very picky with the shots I take myself. Anyway: Very, very special thanks to @real_lil_l to whom I sent the video of the musicians, and he created the drums for the film out of it. I hope y’all like it. ✌🏽🖤

📻 RADIO BROOKLYN: I spend some time in Brooklyn a while ago and cut together a short radio/video show or film inspired by the city, the pulse, the beats (thanks @real_lil_l for helping me out with some drums), my host Sharon and her sons and of course one of my heroes Spike. These are some grabs from the film. The moving part will be out tomorrow.
