Another Sunny Goodwood Track day complete ✅🏁

all the usual suspects there today although sadly for the white Peril it was over before it started 🫣 just as we got the tyres warmed up we got a knocking noise from the rear ns wheel which luckily appears to be just an upper dog bone 🦴 arm which is a very easy £30-50 fix but sadly ended my day ... however the lovely @goodwoodmarshalsclub allowed me to swap cars and jump in Jon's red peril which I warmed up nicely for him to then go on a set a new sub 300hp 996 lap time record of 1.32.76 which is insanely good, man that boy can pedal 💪🏻

so next up is @flat6fm at Bicester so I'll get the white Peril sorted for that plus Spa/nurburgring in just 4 weeks 🏁

I'm sure the white peril will get another shot at a 90 second lap but today just wasn't to be that day 🙄🫣 a few of the other boys also had issues but most importantly everyone made it home and everyone survived & had fun and that's what counts 💕🏁🙏🫶 taken in Goodwood Motor Circuit by @danstimelessclassics2

COMMUNITY BUILD 003 — DTC LIGHTWEIGHT 996 by @danstimelessclassics

This 1997 996.1 Carrera 2 has been steadily modified for track use. Weight reduction has been a big part of the build, with a carbon fibre bonnet, roof and rear lid, polycarbonate rear windows and a stripped interior. Inside, it has 9FF Cobra seats, Schroth harnesses and a custom cage.

The suspension setup combines Yellow Speed coilovers, adjustable RSS components and Eibach arms. The brakes have also been upgraded, and there are two sets of OZ wheels with different tyres for dry and wet conditions.

The engine is currently being rebuilt after a crankshaft bearing failure at 137,000 km. The rebuild includes an OEM IMS upgrade, FVD deep sump, 997 oil return lines, a revised intake with an 82 mm throttle body and upgraded injectors.

Another good run at Surrey Rolling Road today firstly testing how much HP the white Peril has lost with the new quiet Stock Carrera exhaust system " only 10hp " and secondly to investigate the graph 📈 difference over Jons @forensicdetailing solid factory stock C2 293hp run with the UK's fastest 3.4 @james_putman_ CSR build claimed at 325 and actually was spot on as today was 322 and the ambient air temperature not being a great help it's there or there abouts.

interestingly the White perils constant linear pull is very much the same as the red Perils steady straight strong 📈
power pull 💪🏻 despite being actually 10hp down on the quiet exhaust which I actually called at 15-20 down from feeling it on the roads so overall a great day and really good strong numbers all round especially when most 996.1 we put through there are 260-280hp with the odd car pushing 285 max ... so we've all come a long way.

so next for the peril is an exhaust that's louder , switchable and hopefully returns the 10hp and maybe even gives us 15 🤞breaking the 360hp barrier 👌👍🏻💪🏻 ofcourse the torque was insanely strong around 320 too so we will return with Jon's remapped and my new exhaust and maybe even a few tweaks to James CSR too .

FOS 2026 done ✅

nice early start literally piled in at 6.55am was perfect it's was like a fully air-conditioned car show with knowone there 😂 ... met up with some old faces and made some new friends. Reggies first big car event too especially fos and he loved it and we got out and home by 1pm just as the temperatures & dust was about to get a little too much. " if carlsburg did car shows " today's proceedings were exactly that 💯
