Just two kids with a drum and
a dream.

Thank you UIC College Prep @benobleuiccp & @azshealey for the opportunity. 🙏🏾

What a blessing it is to do what you love while impacting and inspiring others to create as well.

Just the beginning.

STICKING: R L fR R, L R fL L

This is one of my favorite grids to play! Learning this grid opens the door for mastering many other hybrid rudiments.

5 Tips For Drummers!🥁

- Study the tempo. Treat the metronome like a percussionist playing with you, instead of just random clicks to follow.

- Be a musician, not just a drummer. Listen to the music and the players around you. Allow tension & release within the music.

- Smile when you play. If you’re not happy, how can you bring a smile to someone listening?

- Trust your instincts and what you study. Try not to over analyze your playing both in the moment and after the gig. You got the call for a reason.

- Set the table for the rest of band to enjoy the music and operate in their element. You are A star, not THEE star. Let the music be the center piece, pick your spots, and give the music motion.

i’m soooo happy the weekend is over, but even happier it happened 🌟! these kids have amazed me as i get to watch their growth and progression as players, musicians, and as our future leaders and adults. they don’t know this, but i’ve been growing and learning right alongside them just as much. being back at these stadiums as an instructor instead of a student is a crazy experience, and i’m ready for so much more.
