5 Tips For Drummers!🥁

- Study the tempo. Treat the metronome like a percussionist playing with you, instead of just random clicks to follow.

- Be a musician, not just a drummer. Listen to the music and the players around you. Allow tension & release within the music.

- Smile when you play. If you’re not happy, how can you bring a smile to someone listening?

- Trust your instincts and what you study. Try not to over analyze your playing both in the moment and after the gig. You got the call for a reason.

- Set the table for the rest of band to enjoy the music and operate in their element. You are A star, not THEE star. Let the music be the center piece, pick your spots, and give the music motion.

Maxey & Ross is an education-focused, community-driven business centered around music, rhythm, and personal growth—with a special emphasis on drumming.
