✂️workshop alert✂️ Paper Collage Cloth Saturday, 03 October 2026 | 10:30 AM to 01:30 at @mprg_vic as part of the National Works on Paper Exhibition Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the creative possibilities of paper, cloth and stitching. 🖇️ Link in bio Working with an inspiring mix of handmade paper, fabric offcuts, recycled textiles & fashion magazines, participants will experiment with layering, composition, colour & pattern to create richly textured collage surfaces. Through a combination of collage & simple hand-sewing techniques, you'll transform collected materials into a unique quilted textile work that can be displayed at home or incorporated into an ongoing creative project. Inspired by the material experimentation & ideas explored in the National Works on Paper exhibition, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from a featured exhibiting artist while discovering new approaches to working across paper & textile traditions. No previous sewing, textile or collage experience is necessary. Some materials supplied, however we encourage you to bring your own special memory making fabrics & papers. Light refreshements included 🍓 by @daphne_mvp

One week left till the deadline! 📣 Open Call — Fashion Refusal DEADLINE EXTENDED What does it mean to refuse fashion — not walk away from it, but resist and reimagine it? Curated by me and @tassia_joannides, Fashion Refusal is a new exhibition coming to RMIT Design Hub Gallery as part of the 2027 PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival Independent Program, and we're calling for contributions from the RMIT F&T community, including staff (ongoing, contract, casual, sessional, academic, technical, special guests!), students, alumni and partners. Drawing on research into Regenerative and Sustainable Fashion Systems, the exhibition brings together work across five curatorial lenses: refusal as resistance, refusal as aesthetics, refusal to conform, refusal as restraint, and refusal to disappear. We're looking for practice that refuses the hierarchies, systems and norms of dominant fast fashion and makes space for alternative ways of doing, thinking, dressing and making. Individual or collaborative contributions are welcome across creative practice, panel discussions and public workshops. 📅 DEADLINE EXTENDED TO Friday June 26 2026 📅 Exhibition open to public: 26 Feb – 25 Apr 2027 🔗 Full EOI in bio @rmitgalleries @tassia_joannides by @daphne_mvp
