Fix the tractor, then run the tractor. It’s a tiny guy but gets the job done and has for a long time. Easiest fix you could ask for, a battery replacement. Looking forward to putting check marks in all the boxes on the to do list here. I’m even going to have my own green house to grow veggies and flowers for the Fall. What a journey this was! From talking through it with the landowner, closing the deal, getting started, and experiencing the learning curve bc this was indeed my first rodeo. We got it across the finish line a tad over budget and a couple weeks late but it’s done, useable and just in time for the opening weekend of the season.

I don’t have completed pictures just yet bc it was dark by the time I finished. I told the landowner I wanted pictures of a deer, on his SXS, on top of the bridge.

This bridge now connects the rest of his property to allow for recreation and management on the other side of this creek. This is why I do what I do. Help landowners gain back their property and enjoy their little slice of heaven a bit more.

Next projects are already in the works. Looking forward to sharing more when the time is right. Apparently slow season is coming up but it sure doesn’t feel like it. Here’s to a great year end after a brutal first year in business. 🤙🤙

A glimpse into the process of attaching these 4X6s to the I Beams. Fully complete yesterday evening. Just in time for these crappy weather and start of the season on Sunday.

Learned an incredible amount accomplishing this. I find it interesting that I am also building bridges in my personal life too. I’ve always attached significance to what’s going on in my physical world along with what’s going on in my personal life.

When I say I’ve learned, I don’t mean what I’ll do better next time “to be more profitable” I mean what am I able to apply in all areas in my life. The soft skills most people do not talk about. This bridge was built with more than concrete, steel, lumber, and hardware. It was built with intention, with gratitude, with trust, with honesty, with vulnerability, with grit, and with very little help.

I couldn’t be more proud of this bridge. Turning out just how I imagined. Experienced a lot of set backs and losses throughout the process. I knew it was going to be a learning experience. I knew it was gonna be challenging. I knew I could deliver on it. Here it is just 2-3 days out from calling it complete. Wait till you see what I have in store next. Got the far side looking a lot better. Ramp shaped. Debris removed. Now both sides look nice and clean. Ready to start putting the tread on if the weather allows for it. 🤷‍♂️ taken in South Carolina by @darbs.lee

What a process this was. Took me 2.5 hours with the first beam. Next beam was right an hour. Third beam was under an hour. Once I learned how to get the beam to move the way I wanted, it was gravy.

I couldn’t be happier with the way this is turning out. I am so proud of it. Gonna look even better when I get the tread put on. Got some nice thick 4x6s that I am going to carriage bolt to the steel.

It’s gonna come together super quick. 204 holes to drill and secure. The last task is to drive a SXS across it.

Biggest business lesson learned. Steel suppliers do not care about your down time. Next time we get the steel before we rent the excavator 😂😂 and by get, I do not mean purchase. I mean when the steel is ready for pick up. That’s the real trigger. What a pain. Head down. Keep moving forward. taken in South Carolina by @darbs.lee
