Mum spent her final few months this summer in Meadow House Hospice. It’s an ugly fucker of a building, lying in the shadow of the brutalist beast, Ealing Hospital, where I was born. But if you cross the road and walk through the field opposite, you’ll find an old viaduct, overtaken by a pocket of forest with a stream running through.

Mum always managed to find beauty in the most unexpected of places. After her funeral we found boxes of her old photo albums; filled with her friends, family, and adventures from across the years - many of them taken on this same camera I took these pictures with.

She lived vivaciously, cared passionately, with an insatiable hunger to learn and discover. I miss her more than anything. by @darcyjdobson

Yesterday we launched our Shedinburgh 2026 programme. An embarrassment of riches. Cannot bloody wait to have this incredibly sexy lineup in our shed this summer.

85+ shows. 150+ performances. 2 venues. 1 shed.

It’s no small undertaking. All made possible thanks to the phenomenal team who worked tirelessly to make miracles happen, our trusty partners @assemblyfest and @youngvictheatre, and brilliant supporters.

The shed is back. Shed Season 2 / Return of the Shed / 2 Shed 2 Furious / Mission Impossible: Shed Reckoning etc.

We’re up in Edinburgh this summer at @assemblyfest Checkpoint then taking over the Maria Studio @youngvictheatre in Autumn. It’s a stupidly good lineup, which we’ll be announcing next month!

Thanks to some wonderfully generous people (as well as everyone who bought a shed ticket!) we’re increasing the number of Shedload-of-Future Fund awards by 66% this year. £5k wont cover everything, but it’s a place to start. Money that can go towards all the ‘unglamorous’ and ‘unfundable’ bits of producing a show. The trains. The accommodation. The printing. The people.

Now more than ever we need bold, ambitious shows that ask more questions than they answer; challenge our world views and beliefs; make us laugh! If you know someone taking a show to fringe for the first time this year, who this might help - please share it with them.
