These super pink philodendron pink princesses are so pretty, but this is a love that won't last. As beautiful as those all pink leaves are, they will lead to a slow death to this plant. Without any green, it can not photosynthesize. I adore these, so I'm cutting it back to hopefully restart the normal varigation and save it. I made the cut one back further than where all pink leaves began. The the nomal varigated leaf i cut off had some nodes so hopefully that will grow new roots. Wish us luck. 🤞🏼

Let's put together an Ikea ÅKERBÄR greenhouse. I originally got one to keep my kitten away from plants that were dangerous. I loved it so much that I got the larger size for when I travel to keep my high humidity babies from drying out in-between watering. The longest part is taking all the protective adhesives off tbh. It's super easy to put together even for someone like me. It does have a few gaps, so to maintain humidity, I added pebble trays with water. I left for over 3 weeks and my plantsitter only watered/checked on them once a week. Upon returning everyone seemed fine a few even needing a repot. So 10/10 recommend this greenhouse 👌🏼.

I'm so excited to share this Día de Muertos fairy garden with you all again! 💀🌼

This was one of my favorite projects from last year, and I just had to bring it back.

It's a fusion of everything I love: plants, miniatures, handmade pottery, and honoring my favorite holiday.

The Story Behind the House:
A while back, I received a gorgeous piece of Mexican pottery that sadly arrived broken. I couldn't bear to throw it away, so I gave it new life as the centerpiece fairy house. I think it suits the garden perfectly. 🏠✨

The Garden:
It features two traditionally used flowers:
🌼 Cempasúchil (Mexican Marigold): The big fluffy flower most associated with the holiday. Its strong scent is said to guide spirits to the ofrenda. I used dwarf marigolds for this mini scale.
🌺 Celosias: I used both the feathery and crested cockscomb variety, incorporated as Catholicism weaved into the tradition. The red tones are the most traditional.

The Miniatures:
Most of the pieces were handmade in Mexico. The Calavera (skull) represents the deceased. They are never meant to be scary, but lively and festive! I added mini vases of dried flowers, a cup for water, and little calabazas (pumpkins). 🎃

My favorite part? The tiny Xolo dogs. In ancient Mexico, they were believed to guide and protect the deceased in the afterlife. I sprinkled marigold petals leading right to them. 🐕‍🦺🧡

I hope my loved ones like it as much as I do.

Pumpkin patch season is here! 🎃👢 I headed to @kohls to find the perfect looks for those cute photo ops. I’m obsessed with the So line, their mini skirts are actually skorts (the dream!) and these mock neck tops are so versatile. For a more casual look, I tried their oversized juniors tops. Of course I had to pair everything with boots.

A desert twist on a classic fairy garden 🌵🧚🏽‍♀️

Let’s create a terracotta succulent fairy garden in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month! I’ve always wanted to create a more desert styled mini garden, and this felt like the perfect time.

As many of you know, I have a passion for collecting artisanal clay pieces from Latin America. Around Christmas, one of my favorite shops sells these beautiful Guatemalan angels that, to me, look just like fairies. After seeing some hobbit hole gardens, I knew I wanted to combine these ideas into one.

Here is how I built it:
🌱 The Base: A wide, shallow terracotta planter filled with well-draining soil for succulents and cacti.
🚪 The Hobbit Hole: I used a fairy door I had and created a mound around it by adding more dirt.
🪨 The Hardscape: I topped it with a combination of stones from the beach and red rocks from the desert. Smaller rocks create a winding pathway.
🌿 The Plants: I filled the planter with succulent cuttings from my garden along with a few new ones from @armstronggarden .
✨ The Details: To finish it off and give it a truly fairy feel, I added mini planters, a mini mug, and of course, our resident fairy.

This was a fun little project that can be done anytime during the year. This planter garden can live outside during warmer months or under a grow light during winter.

This is your sign to give that Dollar Tree witch hat a glow-up 🧙🧹🌿

Part 2 of adding a tiny touch of apothecary witch vibes to my home. I found this witch hat at @dollartree and thought it was the perfect base for a whimsical botanical glow-up. First, I removed all the tinsel and painted the plastic base in the sage green color I love.

Wrapping the frame in yarn took the longest — you have to start with the brim, then work your way up to the pointed tip. Once that's done, the fun part begins: decorating! I used Spanish moss around the brim and two tillandsia to add a touch of planty magic. Then I glued down some dried and faux florals. Lastly, I added a monarch butterfly because what's more magical than a butterfly? 🦋

I absolutely LOVE how it turned out. It was the perfect size for my jack-o'-lantern that sits atop my Falloween tree. Of course, I had to make one for our resident wizard too 🧙

Part 1 of adding botanical brujita magic to my home✨️🍃

I gave the viral egg carton witch hats a planty makeover using sage green paint, yarn, flowers, and live Spanish moss. I made some with holes for my Calaveras and the rest as a garland for my kitchen!

Easy, inexpensive, and totally customizable. Who else is Halloween crafting this weekend? 🧙‍♀️

After surviving a long summer gardening season, the Sunflower Fairy and I decided to enjoy the garden before the days get shorter and colder. To take a moment to be present, take in the state of the garden, and savor it before we start on our fall plans.

As any gardener knows, you spend most of your time covered in dirt, so we pulled out our nicest garden dress for the occasion. 👗✨

Eastern cultures say they bring good fortune, protection and are just magical creatures.✨

My family and I hit the jackpot with Onyx. She's the sweetest, most affectionate, go-with-the-flow cat I've ever met.And yes she IS magical.

First day of October: pumpkin spiced everything and spooky season vibes 🎃✨

I love the whole Practical Magic cottagecore aesthetic, but let's give it a touch of cultura hispana.

I'm so happy — my favorite candles can finally be lit. These pink @luzytierra_ ceramic pumpkins are my absolute favorite seasonal candles, and I look forward to bringing them out every fall. I adore them so much that I have them in every size they came in. It's a lovely blend of Mexican folklore and modern romantic design.

Now the real question: pumpkin spiced everything or a cardamom pear latte? I want both. What's your go-to fall drink? 🍂☕

September sunflowers: a reminder that joy endures and strength grows through change. As we step into the last week of the month, my garden is still glowing with these golden blooms and they're teaching me that joy isn't seasonal. It's rooted. It's steady. It's resilient. It stays. Take a sunflower or two to start the week with this energy. 💛🌻🧡

I just want to note these blooms are the result of only four seeds of the @botanical_interests Drop Dead Red Sunflower mix. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had poured the whole packet in that spot.

Crafting season is here 🍂💀 Give me a nostalgic spooky movie and an easy craft any day.

Last year I painted Dollar Store wooden skeletons for Día de Muertos, inspired by the terracotta calaveras in my collection from Mexico. Unlike Halloween's scary skeletons, these are playful and lively. I mixed warm brown and creamy orange acrylic paint and dotted on traditional floral designs with paint pens.

This year, I'm trying air-dry clay for the flowers and some new paint colors. Have you started any fall crafts yet?
