Hey mom, I know you’ll be reading this lol. I love you. You’re the best mom a girl could ever ask for. I wish I could be this vulnerable with you every day. But I pray you know how deep my gratitude goes.

My little village is blooming! One by one, mothers are being born alongside their babies, and glory to God for every single one of them. A few have asked me to share a little of my story, so I’ve put together a simple list. Some things I wish I had known back then, from a wiser, more rested version of myself.

What I didn’t expect was that somewhere between the first line and the last, this stopped being a list for you and became a letter to myself.

Two months postpartum, three babies in, and I am still learning every single thing on this list. Still reminding myself to slow down. That sinking into a cuddle is never wasted time. That the dishes can wait, and so will the world, because this body of mine has done something extraordinary, and it deserves the grace of healing.

What’s the rush, honestly?

So this became less of a list for you and more of a love letter to all of us.

I’d love for you to add to it mamas. What do you wish you had known?

The last couple of years have been some of the hardest I’ve ever walked through, and yet, I have never been more sure now than ever before that I am undeniably filthy rich.

The Bible says for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. So I choose to store my treasures in heaven. I choose to be transformed by sacrificial giving and by the quiet, refining work God is doing in me through them.

His favor over my life is evident, and it has nothing to do with numbers in a bank account.

I’ve come to see it as a mission now — to notice, to gather, and to remember every trace of goodness and beauty poured into my life… and to pass it forward. Because in the end, these are the things that endure. These are the riches that echo into eternity.

I never want to forget this sacred season of their little lives. 🥺

It’s the way my oldest tends to her baby sister with such natural, nurturing care. And the way my youngest mirrors every movement, every joy, as if her big sister is the sun she orbits around.

It’s their laughter, wild, shared, and unforced. A sound that could fill up chapters.

Truly, I could go on forever.

And so I pray. I pray that God would grant us the wisdom to nurture this bond well,
to guard it with intention,
and that they would always remember, for all their days, that they were gifted a best friend in each other for life.

Joy lately. by @darnleymichaelle

This is what worship looks like for me in this season:

I wasn’t able to physically attend yesterday’s church service due to baby girl not feeling her best. And even with the online service, focusing was hard because … well, mommying.

But I am so grateful for @judesamuelm ’s ministry at @complexeceum. It planted a seed that grew during the night resulting in me waking up at 5:25AM remembering the whole song and its lyrics when I couldn’t even remember the harmony the night before !!! Reciting it had me BAWLING in tears by feeling God’s presence filing the room at this very instant.

This moment is so special to me, for many reasons. He sees me.

But one thing I knew I had to do is share this — & this is why I love social media. I had forgotten that.. So here. Hope it blesses you the way it blessed me. The whole service is on Youtube on @complexeceum ‘s page.

With so much love,

To our baby girl, who turned 2 months old.

Two months of yellow breastmilk vanilla smelling poop, covered by clear cereal smelling pee.

Two months of morning smiles and funny sounds.

Two months of increased God given melanin and beautiful curls.

Two months of endless contact naps and nose kisses.

Two months in this world that is not ours, but for you to impact.

Two months.

We love you.

God’s timing wasn’t mine on this one. If it would have been only up to me, I would have waited a couple more years to enter motherhood. But im glad it wasn’t.

Because how arrogant of me to think that I have time. Time??! It has never been more clear to me than now that I dont know anything about the concept of time.

But what I do know is that His kindness is renewed each morning, and with that I can only try to understand the whole scope of His work in me.

As trying is the thing.

——

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”

Approaching our final moments as a family of two. This makes me so emotional in so many different ways. — Tucking magic and goodness into every corner of this journey! Thank you God. by @darnleymichaelle
