Met these crazies pushing up Pipeline/Telephone trail. Rarely see people on this ridiculous trail. It was a joy to share the fun with these adventurers. Go exploring! You might discover your next favorite trail… I’m sure these guys will be back. This is one of my favorite ways into the Santa Ana mountains. Start at Green River trailhead, take Santa Ana River Trail briefly then Pipeline Trail into Telephone Trail and eventually to the summit of Sierra Peak. taken in Sierra Peak by @darshahlu

Pleasants Peak needs our help. There is an abandoned camp at the summit that I’ve been keeping an eye on for four weeks. There’s a tarp, some old shirts and a small amount of trash left behind. Bring a small backpack and we’ll each carry a little out. Meet at 6:45 AM; pedal at 7:00 AM. We’ll meet at the bottom of Main Street Trail in the dirt lot at the end of South Main Street (the road). What does “roadless” look like in the Santa Ana Mountains?
Well, it looks like these clips because all of these are from our district’s Inventoried Roadless Areas.
And there are so many more places like this because about 40% of the Cleveland National Forest Trabuco Ranger District’s federally owned non-wilderness land is within Inventoried Roadless Areas, including roughly 37 of 50 miles of official non-wilderness Forest Service trails. And this is just our district.
The Roadless Rule is now proposed for rescission, rolling back protections in all forest districts nationwide.
Public comments close October 6.

Saturday, September 19 we returned to Maple Springs/Four Corners for our fifth clean up this year. The party litter at the pullouts and Four Corners is just the tip of the iceberg, unfortunately. There is illegal dumping that occurs in the forest. We found and cleaned up one site the best we could. We hauled about two truck loads of trash out of the forest, a lot from this one site. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to make the forest better for us all. It felt good making an impact and enjoying the riding together. Not a big deal, just motivation to do the classic Maple Springs/Motorway Loop again. Come join us and help us take care of this small mess at Four Corners. Saturday 09/19. Meet 630am at the bottom of Motorway (dirt lot). 15 minutes of clean up at Four Corners. Then, we’ll summit Modjeska, descend Buckthorn and continue to Motorway. There is an option to shuttle (meet 730) by @darshahlu

🧿Movement looks a little different for both of us 🩵

For me, it’s teaching, moving, connecting, and giving my energy to the people in the room. For Darshan, it might mean two wheels, a mountain, and a summit waiting at the top. 🚲⛰️

Join the Warriors this coming Saturday 09/19 at Motorway Trailhead 630AM. We’ll pedal up Maple Springs road, stop at Four Corners to pick up some trash, then continue to Modjeska Peak. We’ll descend Buckthorn, Mr. Clean, and the epic Motorway. SHUTTLE OPTION AVAILABLE: coordinate with @jim3572 by @darshahlu
