Eight years ago - September 6, 2018 - I broke the internet 💻 while riding a hot dog-fueled wave! 🌭 🌊

My buddy @wa.winston & I went to the @mariners Bark At the Park Night at @tmobilepark (it was still Safeco Field back then).
.
My hooman snapped this photo of me holding a hot dog. We didn’t know that @theannasitta had taken a video of our photo shoot and posted it to @dogspottingorg. The photo and video both went viral, and I gained over a thousand new followers overnight.
.
The next day, I was the #1 topic on @reddit. I started trending internationally 🌍 By the end of the week, I had over 10,000 new followers. I opened a Twitter account because the Mariners said I got to decide whether hot dogs are sandwiches are not. My verdict: Hot dogs 🌭 are delicious but they are NOT sandwiches 🥪

@abcnews contacted me asking to share some of my photos on @goodmorningamerica. I was featured the following week during 9/11’s entertainment news segment, after updates about the Downton Abbey movie & Elton John’s world tour.

And I was featured on local Seattle news station @king5. I visited the studio and got to do the news with @mimijungking5.
.
A lot of cool things have happened to me because of that hot dog. If you ever wonder whether you should have another hot dog… the answer is Yes! Yes!

Flatstick Pub Woodinville’s grand opening is tomorrow, Saturday 10/17! ⛳️ The newest @flatstickpub has taken over the Old Woodinville School building, next to the Woodinville Sports Fields.

It’s the largest Flatstick yet, featuring a mini golf course, shuffleboard, Duffleboard, darts, Pop-A-Shot, & a golf simulator! They’ve even got outdoor fireplaces 🔥

There are TVs everywhere, so it’s a grrrreat place to catch a game! It’s the best spot in Woodinville to cheer for @wsucougarfb so Smol Dog be there during Saturday’s Washington State-Oregon State game 🏈 Go Cougs! 🐾

Yesterday was a National Day of Action to Stop Sexual Violence, organized by @womensmarch.

We joined the crowd outside the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building in downtown Seattle. Smol Dog brought some new protest signs ✊🏼🐾

The dark history of sexual violence in America is persistent & recurring. It predates the Cornell 7 & the Epstein Files by centuries. The systems & institutions that should protect victims are failing; they shield rapists & assailants instead.

We need to end sexual violence, believe survivors. & hold 💩 people accountable for their actions.

Our hearts are with our friend @supercorgi_jojo, his brother @kilokilopower & Josephine (his Corgmahm) today…

Jojo was the world’s first surfing corgi & he surfed into our lives in 2019 during a visit to Seattle 😊

Jojo & Josephine have spent almost 17 beautiful, amazing, wonderful years together 🥰 He survived a near-fatal dog attack when he was young, & began surfing as a form of therapy. He later became a certified therapy dog. Jojo’s been very involved in the San Diego community: Volunteering for children with disabilities, participating in school literacy programs, visiting hospice patients, supporting military families through the USO, & more.

Jojo’s a world traveler (Hawaii is his favorite destination) & a master of disguise. He’s been featured on TV & he helped his Corgmahm write a book. He’s loved around the world, but he’s loved most of all by Josephine ❤️

Jojo was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy three years ago, a disorder that affects the spinal cord & leads to paralysis. He’s completely paralyzed now, but still happy. Josephine has made the difficult & compassionate decision to help Jojo across Rainbow Bridge today, before his paralysis causes any discomfort or suffering 😢

We’re sad that Jojo is leaving, but are so grrrrateful for all of the wonderful memories. His spirit & legacy will live furever. And we know that Dash & all of Jojo’s corgi friends will be waiting on the other side of Rainbow Bridge to welcome him 🌈🐾

✨ CENTER OF THE STORY: We’re getting a little lost…

Seattle Center has been the backdrop for a LOT of stories over the years. Turns out, some of them are literally in books. 👀📚

Welcome to Center of the Story, a new series where we’re hitting the shelves to find books that feature Seattle Center, our venues and the landmarks that make this campus unmistakably Seattle.

First up? We’re following a very good boy. 🐶

In Larry Gets Lost in Seattle by John Skewes and Eric Ode, Larry loses track of his family and finds himself on an accidental sightseeing tour through the Emerald City, including a stop at the Space Needle and Seattle Center.

Naturally, we needed a real-life Larry to retrace his pawsteps.

Enter: Chase (@dash.dog), the goodest boy 🐾💚
Chase graciously agreed to get “lost” around Seattle Center with us, sniff out a few landmarks and generally make this whole series kickoff approximately 100% cuter.

(For the record, no dogs were actually lost in the making of this Reel. Chase’s hooman was close by with treatos as per Chase’s contract.)

A big thank you to our friends at Seattle Public Library for lending us the book and to Chase for helping us turn the first page of Center of the Story.

Smol Dog hasn’t been to a protest/street rally in months. Today we went looking for some Good Trouble & joined in the statewide Data Center Moratorium Day of Action. Smol Dog’s favorite baker @evanyellsatclouds 🥧 helped organize today’s actions.

Smol Dog printed up a bunch of new signs & joined protestors at the John Lewis Memorial Bridge overpass in North Seattle.
