Quick shoutout to my friends Ande, Chase, & Dash (rip) — A football season highlight & an anchor in my life as Coug. These 3 friends I don’t see often, but … when I do … they always remind me why my marketing work is so special, & they also remind me how much joy I can find in all of it when I let myself pay attention. Ande & Chase were back in Pullman last weekend for the Arizona game. Without even trying, they lifted my spirit. Visiting with them helped me lock into the day & my 14th year working in Pullman 😬 I met Ande & Dash about 8 years ago during the season all of this marketing & photo stuff really clicked for me. Dash was one of the first influencer relationships I had in my career, & is arguably the most meaningful. Dash & Ande didn’t just support me & my clients. They supported all of WSU & any alumni affiliated groups. Over time, they became peers to talk shop with & relate to. When I moved to Seattle, they were some of my only friends. As the years have gone on, they’ve shown up for work, sure. But they’ve also shown up for funerals & breakups & career shifts & parties & sobriety & advocacy & my classroom & much much more. They’re good people, who I value a lot. & I’m grateful I recognize the best parts of me when they happen to be around. If you’re lucky enough to hang out with Ande & Chase even once, do it. Joy isn’t just their brand. They live it out loud. Cheers, guys. Go Cougs.

✨ CENTER OF THE STORY: We’re getting a little lost… Seattle Center has been the backdrop for a LOT of stories over the years. Turns out, some of them are literally in books. 👀📚 Welcome to Center of the Story, a new series where we’re hitting the shelves to find books that feature Seattle Center, our venues and the landmarks that make this campus unmistakably Seattle. First up? We’re following a very good boy. 🐶 In Larry Gets Lost in Seattle by John Skewes and Eric Ode, Larry loses track of his family and finds himself on an accidental sightseeing tour through the Emerald City, including a stop at the Space Needle and Seattle Center. Naturally, we needed a real-life Larry to retrace his pawsteps. Enter: Chase (@dash.dog), the goodest boy 🐾💚 Chase graciously agreed to get “lost” around Seattle Center with us, sniff out a few landmarks and generally make this whole series kickoff approximately 100% cuter. (For the record, no dogs were actually lost in the making of this Reel. Chase’s hooman was close by with treatos as per Chase’s contract.) A big thank you to our friends at Seattle Public Library for lending us the book and to Chase for helping us turn the first page of Center of the Story. Cougs always find our way back home! Justin and I had such a blast traveling back to Pullman for the @cougcollective Happy Hour and staying for the game against AZ. Not the outcome we had hoped for, but such a stunning weekend in Pullman. The collective hosts these get togethers the Friday before every home game, and the next one is at the @emporiumpullman (AKA the old Shakers!) Your ticket includes food & drink and if you’re an 1890 member, it’s FREE!
