If my music had only one consistent message - it is the seeking out harmony and balance between the old and the new, tradition with innovation, nature with technology. I think it's a message we need more than ever. Biomimicry, the conscious emulation of life's genius, holds the key to finding dynamic equilibrium with nature through designing into the pattern/web of life that already exists - rather than attempting to dominate it.

"If Art would produce any solid and permanent effect, it must follow in the footsteps of Nature, and be guided by her methods. It must trust itself to the guidance of Nature as far as Nature will lead, and go beyond her by still adhering to her rules. "

My album Luminous Bardo is now available through @hemisynclife

Best experienced on headphones 🎧 ✨🎶

Description below and link in bio.

"The luminous bardo, the intermediate state of consciousness that follows death, is a profound and meditative state where the true, unconditioned nature of the mind is revealed. It appears as a blindingly clear and expansive light.

Dashmesh created this album as a sacred offering—a sonic sanctuary designed to soothe the soul and nervous system. Intentionally woven, it unfolds as a vast and spacious soundscape existing between worlds, between waking and dreaming, life and death, presence and release. This hour-long meditative journey is infused with Hemi-Sync® frequencies and the healing resonance of Tibetan singing bowls, renowned for their powerful capacity to realign energy and foster deeper stillness."

Checkout this review of our album by Michael Foster at Ambient Visions:

"Some albums feel less like collections of songs and more like places you enter. Cave of Light and Shadow by Dashmesh and Erik Wøllo featuring Byron Metcalf is exactly that kind of experience. Built from tribal percussion, didgeridoo drones, shimmering guitars, and expansive ambient atmospheres, the album explores the space where earthbound rhythm and spiritual elevation meet. It is immersive, cinematic, and deeply rooted in ritual and transformation.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the project is the blending of influences behind it. Conversations about shared Norwegian heritage inspired Erik Wøllo’s folk-tinged melodic textures, while Dashmesh and Byron Metcalf bring an organic rhythmic pulse that feels ancient and primal. The result is a rare collaboration that never sounds forced or overly polished. Instead, it breathes naturally, unfolding like a ceremonial journey through darkness, light, memory, and awareness.

My full review now posted at Ambient Visions takes a deeper look into why Cave of Light and Shadow stands out as one of the more compelling tribal ambient releases of 2026 so far. For listeners who appreciate immersive ambient music with genuine emotional depth and human presence, this is an album well worth experiencing."

Our new album is now released worldwide! I'm excited for everyone to hear it. I am very fortunate to have collaborated with two incredible musicians, the prolific Norwegian guitarist/composer Erik Wøllo @erikwollo whom I have been a big fan of for around 16 years and my longtime mentor/friend the legendary Byron Metcalf @drbamaz. Also, it's bandcamp friday which means all proceeds from bandcamp go directly to the artist. Available on all streaming platforms.

Brief excerpt about the album:

"The Cave of Light and Shadow is a sonic journey built from the interplay of contrasting forces—dark and light, earth and sky, rhythm and melody. The drums, rattles, and deep grooves of Byron Metcalf and Dashmesh, along with Dashmesh’s didgeridoo, form the pulse at its core, grounding the listener in the primal and earthly. Atmospheres, nature soundscapes along with guitar textures, sequencers, and melodic lines by Erik Wøllo open the listener’s awareness skyward. Together, these elements do not simply coexist—they converge at a threshold, the point where two worlds meet."
