It’s already June 1st here so wishing my old man Jerry Bob a very happy 85th bday now. ❤️❤️❤️ I did my best to dig to find cute nostalgic photos of him/us, but alas it is what it is as I don’t have all the old stacks of photo albums.

I’m privileged not only to have him as a father but to STILL have him around in my life at this age. I’ve ‘finally’ matured enough (and in fairness, so has he) for us to have the kind of meaningful adult father/son relationship we have now - it’s something I cherish dearly.

For an alte kaker, he’s still in great health, his mind is there, and he has had had to slow down physically (which ain’t been an easy pill for him to swallow since sports have always been so big for him), he’s opened up his heart/wisdom to us even more in recent years

I feel a great deal of luck & gratitude that I got dealt the hand I did with him as my father (hasn’t always felt that way for me, and I wasn’t an easy kid to deal with), but he’s always been there for me, has come around to accepting me for me with a lifestyle that was unexpected / foreign / difficult to him, especially with a generational gap between us (he was in his late 40s already when I was born).

We spent so much time together in my childhood, lots of fond tender memories (I was and still am his favorite son after all, there’s no debate about this!) - he took me to so many basketball gyms and drove me all over town, coached little league, we took trips together just the two of us, he did all those things you’d hope for in a great father as a kid, then he put up with my difficult teenage / early 20s mashugana and has now come to truly accept me for who I am and embrace my husband and our extended Belgian family via Pieter. I am a lucky son and I am so grateful he was born and gave me the life I have.

So yeah, on this day in 1938, he came into this world, he made his way from very little thru a lot of hard work & sacrifice to build a plentiful life for a big family. I never went without. Although we’ve certainly had our ups and downs, his love has always been unconditional love, and we have a relationship today I hold so very dearly.

Across four rooms, Matt Lambert presents a survey of his Berlin body of film and video works over the last 15 years. In 2025, Lambert released his 6th photobook, „If You Can Reach My Heart You Can Keep It,” published be Baron, which reflected on his most personal work (2011—25). This show expands on many of the works in the book, in motion, as well as going deeper into early Berlin experiments.

Diving deeper into his archive, Lambert premieres “IT WAS YOU TIL IT WAS ME,” cutting through archival and unreleased moments, featuring @traceisdreaming in a durational series of looping performances that live-score the film. In the basement, a darkroom cinema screens a selection of his uncensored films, guided by a scent-scape designs in collaboration with @raerscents.

Born in L.A. and having started his practice in London and then NYC, Matt Lambert is a Berlin-based filmmaker, photographer, creative director, and curator whose work centers around queer history and contemporary identity. He has shown work at and collaborated with Tribecca, Cannes, SXSW, Tate Britain, Munch Museum, British Film Institute, Palais Galliera, HAU, Schaubühne, Berliner Ensemble, and an ongoing series SISSY SMUT at Volksbühne.

Here in Prague to engage in DC26, this year’s Dancecult Research Network conference.

Delivering a presentation on “ᴛʜᴇ ᴜʀɢᴇɴᴄɪᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴀʀᴄʜɪᴠᴀʟ ᴅᴏᴍɪɴɪᴏɴ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀᴄᴄᴇꜱꜱ: ʀɪꜱᴋɪɴɢ Qᴜᴇᴇʀ ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴄᴜʟᴛᴜʀᴇ ᴇʀᴀꜱᴜʀᴇ” on Friday afternoon. The talk will pull from my archival research practice over the last several years and my active participation in the queer club culture community in Berlin since 2015.

I chaired a panel (for the first time) earlier this morning on topics surrounding “Sonic Practices & Performance Technologies” which featured presentations by Ana Rita Costa (@mayan.dj.pt), Manoli Moriaty, and Jack McNeill (@orensounds).

SMUT Press is proud to announce the launch of Cruising Archaeology II: Eurotrash, the long awaited follow-up edition to the 2024 cult bestseller. Cruising Archaeology II: Eurotrash is the tenth printed matter project by the press and will launch in a series of events across Europe, starting at MA1: Bunker in Old Street in London.

The project builds on the initial edition’s success by expanding the breadth of archaeological sites to various locations scattered across European cities including Berlin, Athens, Dublin, Barcelona and Paris. The diversity of cruising areas, including woodland areas, public toilets, palatial gardens, s3x clubs and beaches, speak to the inventive, site-responsive forms that cruising assumes and situating desire both within the folds of a city’s infrastructure and natural landscape.

Building on its predecessor, the publication pairs vivid scans of collected objects with texts that contextualise and historicise cruising’s material traces. Contributors include Marc Svensson (You Are Loved), Mati Klitgård (Gay Consent.Lab), Stav B, Jordan Tannahill, Prem Sahib, and João Florêncio.

The book retains the original pocket-sized paperback format, with design by John Philip Sage. Published by SMUT Press and distributed by Public Knowledge Books. Stockists TBA. This production is supported by Arts Council Ireland and Culture Ireland.

SUMMER 2022: Photo Dump [Part One]

Well, here we are, mid-September. Birthday approaching, days are getting shorter, temperature is dropping, everyone seems to be getting properly busy back to work and the grind. Filled with warm memories of the past season, I’m feeling nostalgic but also filled with a dedication toward imagining + manifesting what’s to come. Excited about planning trip back to the States around Thanksgiving for some quality family time, got a couple trips of family visiting us here in Berlin.
