Arriving in Berlin today felt like stepping into a memory.

The warmth of the summer air, the familiar scents drifting through the streets, the sound of trams, conversations spilling out onto sidewalks, bikes rushing past... it all came flooding back at once. Itโ€™s incredible how a city can live inside you long after youโ€™ve left it.

Then came the best part: reconnecting with people Iโ€™ve known and loved for years. The kind of long, genuine hugs that make you realize no amount of time or distance can diminish real connection. Being surrounded again by so much creativity, talent and warmth left me completely giddy.

Matt and I have known each other for nearly 15 years, and watching his evolution has been nothing short of inspiring. Heโ€™s become an extraordinary artist whose work has helped shape the visual language of contemporary queer culture. I couldnโ€™t be prouder of everything heโ€™s built.

Through Matt, I also had the pleasure of meeting Vincent Wechselberger, whose photography is featured in Amelia Abrahamโ€™s new book Sex, Clubs, Dissent: Visualising Queer Nightlife. The book brings together decades of imagery from queer nightlife around the world, exploring how photography has both documented and celebrated these spaces while preserving moments of joy, resistance, intimacy and community that might otherwise have been lost.

Days like today remind me why I love this city so much. Berlin has always been more than a place to me. Itโ€™s a feeling. A community. A constant source of inspiration that somehow still feels like home.
