After decades spent gathering Kurdish literature and cultural artifacts for an "exile museum" (@thekurdishmuseum), one man's life's work is under threat.

Grateful I got to share about an upcoming publication at the Refusal(s) and Kurdish Literature conference this month. Here are a couple of my slides ☀️

So excited about this ❤️☀️💚 beautiful photos, thoughtful descriptions, Kurdish food -- it's perfect! Run to an independent bookstore or local library and see for yourself.

"Thus producing a publication of mixed media--poetry, graphic novel, prose excerpts, memoir--to allow diaspora Kurds the unbridled freedom to express themselves rather than curating ideas for serving a monolith of Kurdish identity often built by those of non-Kurdish identities." ☀️ My review of @sleepinginthecourtyard is in the March issue of @worldlittoday !! If you don't have time to read the review, I'm basically saying that this book is unique and worth reading. You won't regret it! 💚🌻 taken in Slemani Kurdistan by @datepalms_

I never posted the finished sampler I did from Wafa's @tatreezandtea Palestinian tatreez kit. Please look at her research, stories, and other Palestinian artists for how crafts carry not only tradition but culture.
