Seems like a good day to remember those who worked for our planet. Rachel Carson, Lewis MacAdams.

I had a wonderful visit to the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Walking through the galleries I was reminded of the importance of the story behind the art. I have spent my entire career documenting heroic stories and this visit inspired me to continue.

For centuries the Medal has been a traditional way to pay homage to great people and their efforts.

They are actually small monuments that show a visage and textual information.

Most medals have two sides which inherently compliments and marries the obverse and reverse together. For spatial considerations, most medals shown here are only the Front side, or (Obverse).Art Medal by @daubeugene

To depict the spiritual world in sculpture has been one the most satisfying areas of my work from the very beginning. I have always enjoyed religious themes because it offers a wide latitude for creative interpretation. Sculpture, painting, and music are powerful channels to the human soul.

A process series of the current medal I am working on for the Jewish American Hall of Fame.

Vera Florence Cooper Rubin July 23, 1928 – December 25, 2016) was an American astronomer who pioneered work on galaxy rotation rates. She uncovered the discrepancy between the predicted and observed angular motion of galaxies by studying galactic rotation curves, the one key piece of evidence for dark matter. Rubin spent her life advocating for women in science and mentored aspiring female astronomers.
