Zeke was born at home last night after a brief 2 hour labor that started shortly before I lit this candle and took this photo to mark the time and ended as Dawn, our midwife, got to our house with just enough time to put on gloves to catch him. Everyone is happy and healthy. Skip and Iggy are ecstatic and I remain in awe of Colleen.

I am very appreciative that I can start my leave on the first day of playoff baseball. Thanks Zeke! by @dave_graz

James Durden doesn’t have a social media account but I am thrilled to let everyone know that he has made it to Asia and has completed the Gentlemen’s Race ahead of @srtoppel. James has been to every continent on Earth, yes, including a 4 month stay at McMurdo Station in Antarctica after convincing the government that he was a skilled carpenter when applying for a job on the ice. I take some credit for this as I was his reference for the job. I received this photo today from Sultanamhet Camii in Istanbul before he heads to Mumbai. I asked James if he had a message to share with this photo and he said:

“you should never go to Alaska as a young man because you’ll never be satisfied with any other place as long as you live”

I went 13 years ago this week and this quote is absolute truth. There is a life before Alaska and a life after Alaska and a life before and after seeing Denali.

A lifetime of gratitude to my brothers on this trip. JM @seanwspellman @philbronch and @sgtoepfer who documented it all which is even more insane. And all of the people I met who I hold so closely and dearly in spite of such a short time together.

Can’t wait to bring my kids. by @dave_graz

This mantra, and Om Mane Padme Hum, were the first two mantras I ever worked with in meditation after my auspicious meeting of @dhungdho on a flight from LA.
In my experience, mantra meditation is like tuning a radio to find the station where the mantra has been repeating eternally by an infinite chorus. My voice falls into lockstep and then fades. I can tell you, with certainty, that this recording by @soma_kirtan is the closest to that radio station that I’ve heard outside of my own head. If you want a shortcut, this is it.

I encourage you to work with Padmasambhava. Sit quietly with this recording and get it going in your head. If you want to go deeper, there’s a great guided meditation on the Ram Dass podcast, Episode 8, the last slide here shows you where to start.

May this post be the first step on your path to liberation and dissolution of your body into rainbow light. by @dave_graz

Colleen and I got married a couple of weeks back in Neptune, NJ at the exceptionally beautiful Mahamritunjaya Mandir. Deeply indebted to Robert for the magical ceremony and everything included, the profundity of which is only expanding in the days since.

Infinite love and appreciation to Zoe, Meghan and Shaun for joining us at this magical part of the journey and to Sara for lending her incredible skills to make such amazing photos.

Robert taught us that weddings in front of a Ganesh homa last for 7 lifetimes. So you’ll be seeing this post again sometime.
