What do I do? Service/upgrade/personalise people bikes for them.
This Kenevo SL was bought second hand, and the previous rider was a lot heavier and taller than the new rider. The work I undertook was:
-Service fork and drop travel to 170 from 180
-Change shock spring from 410lb to 274lb
-supply and fit a short AXS Seatpost
-Cut handlebars to 730mm
-Set bike in lowest BB setting, but with steep head angle to@rider preference
- New tyres, Grid trail carcass rather than Grid Gravity, and remove tyre liners

This made the bike a lot smaller, and a lot lighter. by @davefarmerdorking

I have been lucky enough to ride and sell @iamspecialized Tarmac bikes for a long time. I have ridden and raced every version of the SL series from SL to SL7.

The SL3 lives in my@mind and heart as a special bike. Big thanks to @henrikjensen7 for lending my old race bike back to me so I can take a trip down memory lane. After a bit of spanner time to set it up for me (bike fit and set up are crucial), time to ride. What do I think?

-This bike still rocks, really lively, agile and reactive.
- @maviccycling Ksyrium wheels are very good, and fast.
-Modern bikes with larger tyres and aero wheels maintain speed better
-Electronic gear shifting is amazing, I have been using the beep-BOOP gears for 5 years now, and would 100% not go back to mechanical
-Disc brakes are better in every way
-newer bike geometry with lower BB gives more confident cornering
-I could still race this bike, would it slow me down, would I still be competitive? I think not at the speed races are going now. Modern aero bikes are sooooo fast and stable.

So to summarise. This bike still rocks, it’s a great bike, but modern innovations have improved bikes, they are now easier to ride faster, and easier to ride.

Workshop job of the week.

This Epic8 has been in the upgrade path. The stick bike has twist lock suspension and Alluminium handlebars. The upgrades made this week are:
-Powermeter @quarq
-New @rockshox rear shock and fork cartridge with Flight attendant
-Fresh rubber @specialized_uk Ground Control with tan sidewalls, just cos they look more baddass than plain black
-One piece handlebar and stem @rovalcomponents

Full service completed on this 2019 Levo. When this bike was dropped off it was very poorly, and had clearly ridden a lot of miles…..3987 miles in total, without a service.

We can service any bike, to any level. This one was super comprehensive.

Dave then got to work and completed a full clean and strip/rebuild, focussing on the following points:
- Fork and shock service
- Motor and electronics service and update
-Both hubs serviced with fresh bearings
- Suspension/swingarm bearings replaced
-new headset bearings
-Brakes flushed and re-bled with new pads
-New tyres (tan sidewalls make any bike better) taken in Denbies Vineyard / Winery by @davefarmerdorking

Winter bike season is approaching. I am very experienced in setting up a cracking “foul weather bike”. I call this one Nuovo Classique.

@justpedaldenbies I can build you a bike with whatever spec you want. This one was an old frame that this rider has had for a very long time. Built with new parts to ensure that it is a good riding bike.

A little race prep for this rider today. Gravel national champs in Scotland this weekend calls for lower gears, and high speed racing calls for faster wheels.

Tune-up Tuesday for this @specialized_uk Shiv

I built this bike in 2016, we had it custom painted and setup with Sram Etap 11speed, when it first came out. @maviccycling Cosmic Exalith wheels

Today the bike just needed a deep clean, and some fresh wax on the chain, ready for London Tri this weekend by @davefarmerdorking
