He missed every single bonfire night.

Lee Gilbert talks about driving past pubs and chip shops, seeing families sat having a meal together, and feeling it hit him. The whole family used to have massive bonfires when he was a kid. He missed all of them, every firework display, everything.

There's a part of him that regrets it now. Had he known then where he'd end up, he says he'd have taken more time. And the goalposts have moved again anyway.

Full episode out now on YouTube & Spotify.

Why we print the percentage.

NRV is the nutrient reference value: the amount of a vitamin or mineral an average adult needs in a day. Every Lyfelinez label gives the dose and the percentage of NRV next to it, because the percentage is what decides whether we are allowed to tell you what the ingredient does.

A nutrient claim needs 15% of the NRV in a serving. Magnesium in Hydration+ sits at 19%, so it contributes to electrolyte balance. Potassium sits at 14%, so it is named and left alone. Same stick, one percentage point apart, two different rules. That is how it works and we keep to it.

Six in the morning, kettle on, one scoop.

Five grams of Creatine+, unflavoured and unsweetened, in whatever you were already drinking. It does not need a session to go with it. Creatine builds up over weeks, so the thing that stops it working is missing days, not missing workouts.

5,000mg of creatine monohydrate a scoop with vitamin D3 and B12, 83 servings in the pouch, £24.99. Pre-order now at lyfelinez.com/products/creatine-x

Food supplement. Not a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.

People ask what D&G actually does, so this is the short version.

FMCG consultancy is the core, and around it sit social media, Amazon, podcasts
and website building. You can take one or all five.

It always starts with the commercial problem rather than the service, which is
why the growth call comes first.

The number: HbA1c.

Glycated haemoglobin, the share of your red blood cells with sugar attached, which averages your blood glucose over about three months. Fasting glucose is this morning. HbA1c is the term report.

Below 42 mmol/mol is the normal range. 42 to 47 is pre-diabetes. 48 and above is diabetes, on Diabetes UK's thresholds. Pre-diabetes has no symptoms; it is picked up by a number or not at all, and it is reversible at that stage in a way it is not later. Body weight, muscle and using it, a walk after meals, sleep and fewer sugary drinks all move it.

Both sugar markers are in every Lyfestyle panel, from Metabolic Essential at £139.
