Goal: Sub-90 minutes.
Reality: Missed it by 8 minutes (+ took a silly penalty along the way).
HYROX Toronto 🇨🇦 - October 2nd, 2026 - Welcome to the 6ix

I really wanted to break sub-90 minutes for this one. With all the focus on training, nutrition, sleep, and preparation going in, I felt confident I’d hit it - crush it, even. But on race day, it slipped away from me… I know where my gaps are, and I know exactly what I need to train for before the next race in December.
Am I disappointed I missed sub 90 by 8 minutes and took a silly penalty along the way? Absolutely. Did I give it all I had and know that I’m coming back stronger than ever? Abso-fucking-lutely. 💪
When I’m deep in my pain cave during a race, the feeling is overwhelming. Half my mind and body want to stop, puke, or quit - while the other half is screaming, “Fuck that. You love this shit. Let’s go”. Pushing through the pain and discomfort and to keep moving is a wild feeling. Crossing the finish line completely exhausted, knowing I survived one of the hardest physical tests out there, is pretty euphoric.
Massive shoutout as always to my travel partner & bestie Nathan Watts; my coaches @lift_by_anniefit and Daniel Kwon; the training crew at Annie’s @crossfit_rad & @albernivalleycrossfit and above all, @kateofthesmyth - for letting me dedicate so much time to this fitness journey (I often have to remind myself I’m not actually a pro athlete!). Love you, Kate. 🍕
Huge appreciation as well to @insaltd for keeping my hydration locked in throughout training block and race day.
